Master Replacement work in progress. System is ready for commencing SAT.
Both the DAC Node failures have brought down the SCADA System.

B: - COMMISSIONING & OTHER ACTIVITIES

Chembur / ·  SCADA system has been put on trial operation.
DA System for Saki, Borivli and Central Mumbai / ·  I/O checks as a part of Functional Checks completed for 28 stations of Central Mumbai.
Process Improvements / ·  Web Based Call Centre for SCADA complaints has been configured by IT and is available for use by divisions.
C: –MAJOR FAILURES, PROBLEMS & INVESTIGATION

A total of 13 Calls was attended in September 2006. Nelco Engineers were associated for attending to 6 calls with TPC Engineers. Four expert maydays were also utilised to attend to Dharavi problem of Hard disk failure.

Dharavi / External Hard disks / 10-Sep-06 / Both the external Hard disks failed, one was repaired & put back in service. A spare disk is being procured.
Trombay Station ‘A’ / Both the DAC Nodes failed / Since 24-Sep-06 / Both the DAC nodes have failed. No Spares are available. The system is out since then.

D:-NEW, DIFFERENT, BETTER

DIFFERENT:
·  A condition based Maintenance has been initiated for SCADA maintenance activities. A Check list has been prepared & the History/Inspection Sheet has been updated for all SCADA Systems maintained in-house.
BETTER:
·  Web Based Call Centre for SCADA complaints has been configured by IT and is available for use by divisions. The divisions have already started using the WebCC & the complaints are being lodged through it. This will help to maintain a Systematic record of faults & their analysis.
·  Backups of SCADA System database are taken every four months & a copy of these are being maintained in the EQAG Dept. This will help us to maintain a redundant set of Backups at a separate location. The progress of this is 33.33% for this trimester.

E: - TRAINING / INSPECTIONS / DEPUTATION / SEMINARS / GENERAL TOPICS ETC.

·  Ms B S Pisolkar, Mr A. A. Buddhiwant , Mr. Amok Agarwala and Mr Ashish Mhatre attended a 3 day training programme on AREVA SCADA RTU maintenance from 22nd September to 25th September 2006 held at Vikhroli.
·  Mr P. A. Jayakumar attended a 2 day Innovation Workshop on 29th & 30th September 2006 at Trombay conducted by Dr. Bowonder
