Entries close at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday June 22, 2016, or when entry limit is reached, whichever occurs earlier.

LIMITED ENTRY

Entry is limited to a total of 7 hours of judging, at a rate of 9 Pre-Novice, 8 Novice, 7 Open, and 6 Utility dogs per hour in the Obedience trial and 15 dogs per hour (less time for walk-throughs) in the Rally Obedience trial. Once the judge has reached his or her capacity, entries for the trials will be closed, even if the closing date has not been reached. In the case of the entry limit having been reached, remaining entries will be assigned a position on the reserve list. Exhibitors will be notified of their position on the reserve list. If the entry of a bitch in season is pulled after entries are closed, it may be substituted with one from the reserve list up to and including the day of the trial. If the entry of another dog is pulled prior to the trial, it may be substituted with one from the reserve list up to 24 hours prior to the trial.

CATALOGUES

A catalogue is available on a PRE-ORDER basis. Those who wish to pre-order at the price of $ 5.00 may do so by indicating this on the entry form. A limited number of catalogues will be available for sale at the trials for a price of $ 8.00.

ATTENTION FOREIGN EXHIBITORS

Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian funds. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in US funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques “Payable in Canadian Funds” or “At Par”. They will not be cleared through the banks. To simplify the process, we urge that you purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated. Thank You.

ENTRY INFORMATION

1. No entry will be accepted unless all particulars called for on the entry form are completed in full.

2. Incomplete entries will be returned. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by entry fees.

4. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom the entries were made.

5. Alterations, substitution, or cancellation of any entry after the closing date is prohibited.

6. Only dogs which are already registered in the Canadian Kennel Club Stud Book, or are eligible for registration can be entered.

7. The Show Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry subject to CKC Rules.

9. IDENTIFICATION CARDS AND JUDGING SCHEDULES WILL BE SENT BY EMAIL AS SOON

AS POSSIBLE AFTER THE ENTRIES CLOSE. Identification cards must be presented to the Show

Secretary upon arrival at the show.

10.Tendering of an NSF cheque in payment of fees shall be considered non-payment of fees and is

punishable by disciplinary action. Any NSF cheque will be subject to a $25.00 service charge.

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. The Show Superintendent will be in full charge of the show, which will be governed by CKC rules.

2. The Ontario Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume liability, in the event of accident, or other misfortunes, to either dogs, exhibitors, or patrons.

3. If, because of riot, civil disturbance, or other acts beyond the control of management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of Entry Fees will be made.

4. The show precincts shall be the ring and 10 feet in all directions from the outer edge of the ring.

It shall be the duty and obligation of the trial-giving club to see that a judge, club official, ring steward, volunteer, or competitor at a Show held under these regulations, is not subject to indignities of any kind. The Show Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the

authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred.

STATEMENT OF PRIVACY

Personal information which is provided to Danuta Booth, Show Secretary, will only be used for the purposes required by the Canadian Kennel Club and voluntarily submitted to us upon completion of an entry form. No personal information will be disclosed for purposes other than intended without consent or required by law.

TROPHY LIST

Through the generosity of its members and friends, the Ontario Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club will offer the following at the Obedience Trial:

High in Trial- Trophy and Rosette,

1st in each Class – Trophy and Rosette

2nd to 4th in each Class – Rosette

The club will offer the following at the Rally Obedience Trial:

1st in each Class – Trophy and Rosette

2nd to 4th in each Class – Rosette

A trophy will be offered for High Scoring Toller in Obedience Trial.

“HANDY TOLLER AWARD”

The Ontario Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club will award the dog and handler earning the most points over the course of the Specialty “The Handy Toller Award**”. In order to qualify for this distinction, points can be earned by entering 3 or more of the events offered – WC/WCI/WCX, dock diving, agility, rally, obedience, and conformation. The award will be presented upon completion of Sunday’s program. Details can be found at http://specialty.ontariotollers.ca.

EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER

Effective Jan. 1/92, all dogs that are foreign born and foreign owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an Event Registration Number (ERN). The ERN MUST be applied for within 30 days of the first day of entering a CKC event. Fee is $58.50 per dog after January 1, 2012, plus applicable taxes. New – CKC Non Member Participation Fee

a)  A non member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC.

b)  The non member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual.

c)  In order for the title to be awarded, the non member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the non member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level.

d)  All Premium List will carry a note stating that these fees apply only to dogs

wholly owned by non member residents of Canada and are not applicable to CKC members.

HOSPITALITY

Parking and grounds are under the supervision of Kalmegess Kennels and Show Committee. Stoop & scoop. Dogs must be on leash.

Snack Bar will be open for Lunch during the show.

RAFFLES

There will be raffles each day throughout the weekend. Raffle donations always welcome to one of the Committee or at the Raffle table.

The club has a block of rooms held at the show hotel. They are two-bedroom suites. The rate is $74.95 per night plus HST. The Group name is 2016 Toller Specialty and the group ID number is 8888. The block is held until Friday June 17 2016 and is available from Thursday July 07 until Sunday July 10. If you plan to come earlier or stay later that should not be a problem and they should honour the rate.

Please note that there is a car race on that weekend in nearby Mosport so a lot of the local hotels such as the Quality Inn, Comfort Inn, and Travelodge are already booked up, so you should book early!

Camping available at Darlington Provincial Park, Clarington, Ontario (10 minutes to show site)

Self- Contained Camping on site at Kalmegess Kennels is limited. Email Terri Newey at to confirm. Rate $10.00 per night.

Other hotels in the area are dog friendly but could not block rooms due to the car race that weekend. However they may have limited space on a room by room basis if called directly.
