SUBJECT:State Agencies Responsible for Administering Vocational Rehabilitation Programs

CONTENT:Revised charts are attached giving information on State agencies designated to administer the State vocational rehabilitation program. The categories follow the options permitted in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, for the State's choice of an agency to be designated to administer the program.

Attachment A is a summary analysis of State agencies designated to administer vocational rehabilitation programs by category. Attachment B is a listing of states by type of State agency designated, and Attachments C and D show the name and type of designated State agency and the name of the designated State unit. With respect to Attachment D which pertains to agencies for the blind, Column 3(c) includes agencies for the blind located in multi-program State agencies as well as those located in agencies providing assistance or services to the adult blind, e.g., welfare agencies.

These charts replace those issued to State vocational rehabilitation agencies in RSA-IM-88-09 dated December 7, 1987.
