Main purpose of the job

As Registry Assistant your main role will be as the first point of contact for enquiries relating to registry and student financial matters. You will be fielding enquiries from College students and occasionally parents as well as liaising with other College staff. You will also be expected to provide administrativesupport to the Registry Office as required.

Main duties and Responsibilities

  1. To act as the first point of call to assist students with queries regarding their programme, student support or finance
  1. To process and receipt tuition fee and nominal payments and administer a petty cash float including balancing cash received
  1. To enter data into the College’s academic-related administrative IT systems, particularly the student records systems but also the timetabling and VLE systems. Also the running of standard reports, such as debt collection or attendance monitoring
  1. To provide support and assistance to the Registry teams (including Head of Registry) throughout the academic year (Admissions, Finance & Wellbeing, and ProgrammesAssessments).
  1. To administer alumni transcript and confirmation letter requests.
  1. To support the enrolment and registration process for students including general enrolment and registration for course units, and the issuing of ID cards to students
  1. To assist from time to time with activities such as Auditions, Open Days, Congregation of Awards, Assessments and Induction Week.
  1. Any other reasonable duties as may be required taking into account the post holder’s qualifications, knowledge and experience
  1. To ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of you and other persons and to comply with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety within the College.

This job description sets out the main duties of the post at the time when it was drawn up. Summary of Terms and Conditions

Salary: Grade 3£17,528 - £19,632 – pro rata to £13,671 - £15,313

Hours of Work:Term Time only – 36 weeks. 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm but may vary from time to time. Occasional flexibility in working hours will be expected.

Annual Leave:20 days per annum, plus 2 extra statutory days, all bank holidays and close down days (which will be calculated pro rata to the term time only FTE).

This is a term time role only and you will be off for three weeks at Easter, three weeks at Christmas and ten weeks in the summer. Subject to change annually.

Pension: The post-holder will be eligible to join the LGPS.
