JOB PROFILE

Role: Sessional Lecturer in Leadership and Management

Salary: £23.3k - £35.3k pro rata

Accountable to: ER Team Leader

Accountable for:

Delivery of the off the job leadership and management apprenticeship standard themes of learning across a range of levels (covering the ILM/CMI qualifications at level 3-5).

To contribute towards the delivery of a high quality learning experience for all apprentice learners, delivering services in a way that is flexible and responsive to employers/business needs and which displays the highest standards of customer care.

Portfolio of responsibilities:

  • To plan, prepare and deliver teaching sessions in line with employer’s needs and requirements
  • To liaise with employers in the content development and on-going delivery of programmes
  • To develop teaching and learning materials relevant to the programmes
  • To review and evaluate lessons/courses within area of responsibility, with a view to continuous improvement
  • To motivate and inspire students to exceed their expectations and goals. Ensure learners produce the highest level of work and are empowered to take ownership of their studies to achieve excellent results
  • To be responsible for a cohorts of apprentice learners, their programme induction and their off the job learning programme
  • To be responsible for assessing, recording and reporting on student development and progress using a range of ILT technologies
  • To complete relevant registration documentation and monitor student attendance and achievement taking appropriate action as required
  • To participate in classroom observation activities
  • To contribute to and participate in quality assurance initiatives as appropriate
  • Ensuring that students are registered, exam entries complete and that results are collated and reported
  • To contribute to the course and team planning review processes / action plan and attend regular team meetings
  • To produce an assessment calendar and track students’ progress through ILT technologies.
  • To maintain records (teaching and student related) as required
  • To work with employers and agencies to promote employer engagement on vocational courses, including work placements and experience of work opportunities
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation

Qualifications:
1 / Hold a recognised or be prepared to achieve a Teaching Qualification e.g. PGCE or Certificate in Education / E / X
2 /

To hold Assessors qualifications and Internal quality assurers qualification (CAVA or equivalent)

3 / Professionally qualified to a minimum of level 5 in Management / E / X / X
4 / Level 2 qualification in English, Maths or Functional Skills / E / X
5 / Desirable to have a current professional membership status with ILM or CMI / E / X
Experience and Skills:
6 / Relevant industrial experience and occupational competence in leadership and management up to level 5 / E / X / X
7 / Experience of delivering high quality teaching learning and assessment / E / X / X
8 / Experience of providing structured student progression and achievement feedback and using a range of tracking systems / D / X / X
9 / Understanding and experience of the delivery and assessment of apprenticeships in management including ILM qualifications / D / X / X
