RNCM Audition Notes

Please note that the audition date and time allocated to you on CUKAS cannot be altered. If you cannot attend due to illness then a doctor’s note must be provided, in which case an alternative date can be arranged. The College has a specific period allocated to auditions and all on-time applications will have a decision on CUKAS before Christmas. If an audition is delayed there is the risk that places for your instrument will already be taken.

In most cases candidates’ ability to successfully complete the academic requirements of the programme will be assessed primarily on the basis of their educational record, academic references, etc. Certain candidates, especially those who lack the normal educational requirements, may be asked to provide recent authenticated examples of their own work in history of music and theory, or to attend a short written test, or both. Admissions will contact you directly if necessary.

The progress of your application can be monitored through Track. You access Track by logging on to the CUKAS website in exactly the same way as you did whilst you were working on your application.

On arrival at the College, please report to the Reception Desk at the main entrance on Booth Street West. You will then be directed to the waiting area for candidates. Catering facilities are available for your use at the College should you wish to have a meal or light refreshments while you are here.

If you have a disability for which special provision may be needed before or during your audition please let us know and we will do our best to help. You can indicate your requirements on the attached reply sheet.

If you need any advice on accommodation or if you have any questions about any of the arrangements for your audition at the College, please email . You could also submit an enquiry telephoning us on +44 (0)161 9075260 or +44 (0)161 9075210.
