STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the conclusion of the course you should be able to:

  1. Analyze the six classes of nutrients and determine which are essential.
  2. Identify the different nutritional life cycles and assess the nutrients for each one.
  3. Apply the principles of nutrition to plan a healthy diet and maintain a healthy activity level.
  4. Examine own diets and create and design a plan of action for improving my diet and eating habits.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Attendance is not computed as part of your grade. However, all class assignments and exams must be completed to successfully complete the course. If you miss class time, find a friend in the class to get the notes from. Random labs will be a part of your grade, but they will not be listed in your syllabus. It is my way of rewarding those who come to class.

MAKE-UP EXAM POLICY

Make-ups for missed quizzes will not be given. The final exam is mandatory and must be taken on the scheduled date, or on a date PREARRANGED with me.

POLICY ON CHEATING/PLAGIARISM

Academic dishonesty will be handled in accordance with the guidelines published in the College Catalog.

If a student is suspected of cheating, he or she will be asked to take an equivalent test gain. If a student cheats on a test, the student will receive an “F” grade on that test.
