Most of the areas of interest are along the front, where there is virtually no traffic.
· Follow staff instructions on the beach and stay in a defined area with the group. No swimming in the sea.

· Designated member of staff will be on duty for any problems during the night. Students told where staff rooms are.
· Ask for staff advice before using electrical equipment e.g. hairdryers

· Staff to assess property on arrival and advise students of any further hazards, e.g. car parks/other groups/balconies etc. (hotel approved by Voyager)
· Students will not be allowed to leave the hotel unsupervised.

Weds. 21st May / Barcelona

· Students to move around Barcelona as a group, with regular headcounts and staff spread about the line. Roads crossed only under adult supervision.
· Students warned about general safety in Barcelona; keep valuables hidden and preferably in zipped pockets, make sure mobiles are switched on and charged, be vigilant and look out for each other (opened bags, chalk markings etc…)
· Follow staff instructions on boat (and cable car if used). Staff to monitor entrance and exits and to go first and last. Students to remain seated and wholly in the vehicle. Staff to walk with any students who do not wish to ride the cable car, for fear of heights.
· Students may be given a set amount of free time in the pedestrianised part of the gothic quarter and Montjuic castle but are to stay in groups of at least 3 and observe meeting points and times; will be reminded of the need to act sensibly and warned of any traffic hazards, possibility of pickpockets, etc.
Thurs 22nd May / Visit to Port Aventura theme park. / · Transport guidelines as above

· Students to follow safety guidelines provided by theme park staff
· Stay clear of machinery, e.g. near rides
· Students reminded to stay in contact with group leaders; sensible behaviour and follow safety guidelines
· Regular mobile phone registration system used throughout the day to keep track of students.
· Students to follow instructions given by staff and stay in groups of at least 3
· Follow safety guidelines and instructions for specific rides, etc.

ALL DATES / EVENING ACTIVITIES

· Hotel rules and code of conduct explained to students on arrival – students expected to adhere to these
· Follow instructions for individual activities (e.g. scrap-book making - use of scissors, etc.; quizzes – stay in groups)
· Students to follow staff instructions regarding bed time – stay in own dormitories from 10pm at latest (depending on day’s activities). Staff to do regular checks.
· For evening walks / games etc. follow risk assessment guidelines as for daytime excursions – stay with group, care crossing roads, follow staff instructions, groups of at least 3, etc.
· Consideration of other guests – noise, movement restricted to our part of hotel, etc.
Friday 23rd May / Visit Tarragona
