Position Title: VP/Projects and Facilities

Status:Full-Time Exempt for Specific One Time Capital Project

Summary:

Reporting to the President and CEO, this senior position is responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of the Center’s federal $3.55M capital development project ensuring consistency with Center strategy, commitments and goals. The incumbent applies skills, knowledge, techniques, and tools throughout the project activities to achieve the predetermined objectives of quality, scope, cost, and time to meet the expectations. Position will work within the senior leadership team to coordinate all aspects of project requirements in order to realize two major facility renovations to include equipment, technology, furnishings, and personnel.

Project Timeline: April 2011 through Spring 2013

Essential Job Functions:

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. If degree not in management/administration, then supplemental management training and/or certification is preferred.
  • Extensive managerial experience.
  • Knowledge of grant funding and grant-writing experience is desired.
  • Understanding of the health care needs of diverse (often under-served) populations preferred with a capacity to organize health services around such needs.

Responsibility, Skills, and Difficulty of Work:

  • Extensive independent judgment is required; this position will be called upon frequently to make decisions on behalf of the entire organization and to appropriately represent the Center to external parties and the general community.
  • Responsible for maintaining an effective and positive staff liaison with the Board of Directors.
  • Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings, persuasion and negotiation of conflicts and problems; delegating responsibility and achieving results through subordinates.
  • Interpreting legal documents and government regulation.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Work may require many and irregular hours, and under pressure conditions.
  • Work is generally performed indoors in heated, air-conditioned, well lighted, and clean office. Work may involve limited time outdoors, in and around buildings.
  • Work may require periodic to frequent commute travel.
