Suppliers are requested to provide budget pricing on the requirements described. This information is being requested for the completion of a Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) grant application. A successful application and award may result in a future competitive bid process for these requirements.
The acquisition of the equipment and/or services outlined above is dependent on external funding through the CFI (see website: When responding to this RFBP, Suppliers must consider that the CFI approval process may extend to as long as eighteen to twenty-four (18-24) months. The CFI is an independent corporation created by the Government of Canada to fund research infrastructure.
Budget pricing should include:
- An accurate estimate of total cost(F.O.B. destination is preferred) including itemized pricing of equipment, products, software services, freight, handling & packaging (if applicable), installation, training, software, and standard warranties. If goods will be shipped F.O.B supplier’s plant, please provide an estimate of the shipping costs to the university, and include the shipping weight and dimensions
- Pricing of the basic model that meets specifications with optional or alternative items priced separately.
- * Any normal and or educational/academic discount amounts (if available) – if not available, please state this on your quote.
- ** Any CFI discounts and /or in-kind contributions.**
- Travel cost to perform installation and/or training, if applicable.
- Maintenance contract costs.
- Currency – please indicate currency used (Canadian Dollars is preferred).
- Pricing on extended warranties on an annual basis for a total of 4 years.
- Exclusion of all taxes.
Special notes:
The estimated date of acquisition, should the grant application be successful, is approximately 18 months from the closing date of the RFBP. Please state any additional factors included in the pricing such as anticipated market changes or inflation.
Issuance of this RFBP in no way constitutes a commitment by the University of Saskatchewanto award contracts to any supplier or to pay any costs incurred by suppliers in preparation of this budget pricing.
** The purchase decision and matching funds from other entities may be positively affected by “in-kind” contributions. In-kind contributions are defined as special discounts that are over and above regular educational discounts, donations of equipment, professional services and training, extended warranties, etc. In-kind contributions must be assessed at their fair market value to ensure the most effective use of CFI resources. Suppliers may be required to provide additional documentation to substantiate the value of proposed in-kind contributions.
