sub – below, under
trans – across, over

subconscious – part of the brain’s function of which you are not aware
subdue – to conquer or bring under control
subjugate – to bring under control by force
subsidize – to furnish money or assist with the payment of money
subterranean – beneath the earth’s surface
transcribe – to make a written copy
transfer – to carry or send from one person to another
transform – to change in form or appearance
translucent – permitting some light to pass through but giving an
unclear image
transplant – to plant from one place to another
