Job Title:Confidence and Wellbeing Officer

Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Salary:£27,000 per annum (4% employer’s pension contribution after 6 month probation)

Length of Contract:4 Years Fixed Term (1st November 2016 – 1st November 2020)

Office Base: Glasgow

Main Objectives of the job

To deliver structured and holistic confidence and wellbeing support to 15-20 ethnic minority women per year through one to one support, training and mentoring

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1.To promotethe Empowering Women Programmeand identify a minimum of 25 women toengage with and provide support through the programme

2.To assess the needs of clients and develop and deliver one to one support based on the needs assessments

3.To register for and complete Steps to Excellence and Steps Facilitators training

4.To develop a training programme for EM women, and to plan, organise and deliver the programme, including identifying appropriate trainers

5.To work with the Employment Officer (EO) to develop and organise a 2 day residential event for clientsto help consolidate learning, team working, and promote networking

6.To identify and make contact with a wide range of organisations / key stakeholders to initiate volunteer placements, shadowing and mentoring and to develop strategies to make the programme sustainable beyond the 4 years of funding

7.To work with the EO to ensure monitoring and evaluation processes are in place to record the meeting of project outcomes

8.To work with the EO to provide regular and end of year reports to the Head of Operations and to funders when requested

9.To work with the EO to ensure annual and quarterly work plans are in place so as to meet outputs and outcomes of the Empowering Women Programme

10.To continually increase own awareness and knowledge of ethnic minority women’s issues

11.To have self awareness and understanding and empathy for others

12.To undertake other appropriate duties and tasks that will enhance the work of CEMVO Scotland

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • At least 2 years’ experience working with women in a similar role, with the ability to empathise and relate to their issues and concerns
  • knowledge and experience inconfidence building, promoting self-belief and self-efficacy in clients
  • Knowledge and experience in identifying individual needs and developing and delivering programmes to meet these needs
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and organising training programmes, particularly relating to confidence and wellbeing
  • Knowledge and experience in project management, with proven track record of achieving positive outputs / outcomes, includingmonitoring and evaluation processes and co-ordinating activities
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
  • Good networking skills, with the ability to organise and monitor short life projects on a “placement” basis
  • Commitment to the development of the ethnic minority voluntary sector, as well as good understanding of race equality and issues affecting the sector
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Good organisational skills, including own work load
  • Excellent report writing skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience in managing Big Lottery funded projects
  • Ability to speak at least one community language (Urdu or Punjabi, Cantonese or Mandarin)
  • Ability to travel around Scotland, with flexibility to work weekends and evenings when required
  • Knowledge of or work experience in the ethnic minority third sector
