CONSTRUCTION OF EVACUATION CENTER (MULTI-PURPOSE COVERED COURT)

Brgy. Banilan, Pakil, Laguna

I.  Description

A.  Brief Summary of the Project

·  Brgy. Banilan is a coastal barangay that is prone to flooding due to the rise of water level of the Laguna Lake inundating Lupang Kanduli with 57 families at risk;

·  The project will address the socio-economic development needs and disaster preparedness of the barangay; and

·  The present open basketball court will not only cater to sports but to other barangay activities and events, but also will serve as evacuation facility as well.

B.  Project Goals and Objectives

·  To establish and provide temporary shelter in case of emergency;

·  To provide multi-purpose sports and events center.

C.  Target Beneficiaries

·  The direct beneficiaries are the 57 families affected by flooding at Lupang Kanduli and the youths in sports activities. Indirect beneficiaries are the whole 1,809 populace of the barangay and other stakeholders.

D.  Project Partners

·  There is no project partner for this undertaking.

II.  PROJECT COMPONENTS AND IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE

·  Construction of Steel Covered Court, Male & Female Comfort Rooms and electrical & lighting fixtures. All components are in lump sum units. The project will be by contract, thus by public bidding.

IV.  PROJET MANAGEMENT

·  Executive Order No. 08-2015 created the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) for the PCF project Construction of Multi-Purpose Covered Court that will integrate, coordinate, facilitate, monitor and supervise the outputs/activities in the project implementation

V.  PROJECT SUSTAINABILITY

·  The operation and maintenance of the facility will be undertaken by the barangay government;

·  The project will be sustained after the PCF assistance by the barangay government through the Municipal Engineering Office.

VI.  RISK ANALYSIS

·  To comply with existing environmental rules and regulations, guidelines, and criteria;

·  To comply with all mitigating measures necessary to minimize positive impacts; and

·  Properly brief contractors, residents and other stakeholders on commitments or agreements in connection with the project.
