POSITION: REGISTERED NURSE
REPORTS TO: Principal, Special Education
LOCATION: Various
DESCRIPTION: Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 10 month, school calendar position
This position is a 1:1 RN for a student with multiple disabilities; assistance with student’s total care with all medical aspects throughout the school day is expected
· Travel on bus with student from home to school in the morning and back home at the end of the school day.
· Student needs assistance with all areas of daily living skills which may include but are not limited to; toileting, personal care, feeding, positioning and maintaining safety, redirection, task initiation, communication, interacting with other and supervision for sessory activities and routines. Assistance with lifiting is required.
· Performs medical procedures prescribed by doctors for student
· Appraises the mental and physical health status of pupil through observation and analysis of records on a continuing basis
· Assists in feeding and care of student with disabilities as requested by supervisor
· Dispenses medication
· Inititates oxygen if required due to low levels
· Prepares, maintains and shares information on Cumulative Health Records with appropriate staff
· Assists the administrator in planning and maintaining a safe, healthful school environment for student, including the establishment and implementation of emergency care procedures
· Prepares records and reports as required
· Stays current in field
· Current CPR/AED certification
· Carries out other duties and responsibilities as requested and assigned by the Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid NYS Registered Professional Nurse License

SALARY: Per Support Staff Association contract. Plus comprehensive benefits package
