JOB PURPOSE:

To support colleagues within the Marketing and Communications Directorate with a range of digital media activities including:

  • Day to day running and monitoring of the University’s Alumni, Events and News social media accounts.
  • Promoting YSJ events, alumni and external relations activities through social media to continue to build reputation and presence and raise the profile of the University.
  • Provide direct support to the Fundraising & Alumni team,Conference & Eventsteam and Communications team with cross-promotion of communication channels.
  • Supporting Customer Relationship Management (CRM) activity, focusing on communication with alumni.
  • Ensure that the University has a consistent presence across all social networking sites.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Keep the University’sAlumni, Events and Newssocial media accounts (currently Facebook, Twitter, YouTube,Instagram and LinkedIn) up-to-date, relevant and engaging by posting appropriate, timely content and interacting with users.
  2. Support the development and delivery of social media projects for Conference & Events, Fundraising & Alumni and Communications teams. Work with members of the teams todevise creative campaigns (including around graduation, open/visit days, welcome week etc) to promote forthcoming activities, events and conferences to a diverse audience in order to achieve consistently high attendance/response levels.
  3. Co-ordinate, monitor, plan and evaluate (quarterly) social media activity and undertake regular analysis. Liaise regularly with the Conversion and Social Media Co-ordinator to share relevant content and analysis.
  4. Attend key events and provide coverage through social media including the promotion of forthcoming events and conferences, press releases and blogs, photography.
  5. Support the Events team to design and implement post-event audience surveys.
  6. Support the implementation and delivery of direct communications forAlumni campaigns (particularly newsletters, SMS messaging and online applicant portal delivery). Support the retention of alumni numbers and increase the numbers of alumni actively engaged with the University.
  7. Produce visual and written digital content for use in variouscommunications and campaigns delivered through the CRM, and provide reports to assess their success.
  8. To work closely with members of the Conference & Events, Fundraising & Alumni and Communications teams to maintain and develop key alumni, events and communications web pages and related content.
  9. To assist with the creation and development of visual and written digital content including web pages, blogs audio and video contentfor the University’s website.
  10. Ensure digital mediaactivity conformstothe University’s brand guidelines and style guide.
  11. Keep up-to-date with digital media tools and techniques and share best practice.
  12. Regularly benchmark social media activity against comparable universities.
