To Request Seed Funding for Your Event with Romantic Bicentennials (#Romantics200)

We would like to help fund and promote your event alongside a widely-networked series of events under the broad rubric of Romantic Bicentennials for 2016-2018. A seed grant means that Romantic Bicentennials will provide a limited amount of financial support, ranging from $250 to $1,000, for an event that you are working to organize and develop. The idea is that with this initial funding, you would be able to attract further funding to support the scope of your project. All requests for seed funding will be vetted by an international advisory board.

An additional benefit of securing a seed grant is that the event will become affiliated with Romantic Bicentennials and wewill list and advertise your event on our websiteand in any related publicity. In return, you and your co-organizers should feature our Romantic Bicentennials logo (above) on any publicity for the event you are planning. These events will complement our planned annual symposia, but the impact of the symposia—and by extension your event—willbe enlarged by our Networked Events initiative, which coordinates new conferences, lectures, exhibitions, courses, and other means of commemorating the Romantic-period culture of 1816-1818 under the rubric “Romantics200,” a project with international and interdisciplinary reach.

Regardless of whether your proposal is granted funding, we remain committed to helping develop and coordinate as many events as possible that draw attention to new initiatives and vital activities in Romantic Studies and to help mobilize resources for rearticulating the aims of various critical projects central to the humanities by way ofRomantic studies.
