The transformations from one state of matter to another (called phase transitions) have typical names:

Microscopic interprétation

During a phase transition, the chemical system will win or loose energy (most of the time because of the changing of temperature).

When the chemical system wins energy, the particles are more restless and they’re going to move away from each other.

When the chemical system looses energy, the particles are less restless and they’re going to gather and to huddle up to the others.
