REHABILITATION - KEY FOCUS AT RIMINIWELLNESS
From 9th to 12th May the huge Rimini Fiera show once again features the professional section dedicated to rehabilitation and functional re-education
Rimini, 2nd May 2013 – RiminiWellness, the huge international show of fitness, wellness and sport, being held at Rimini Fiera from 9th to 12th May 2013, once more confirms its role as an opportunity for networking and in-depth discussion for sports and rehabilitative medicine professionals.
Once again this year, the WPROsection will feature numerous events of national importance, at which rehabilitation professionals (physicians, physiotherapists, masseurs, etc.) and movement technicians (sports science graduates, trainers, etc.) will network on key issues regarding the world of rehabilitation.
So RiminiWellness is once more hosting RIABILItec, the professional section dedicated to Science and Technology for Rehabilitation and Functional Re-education, now at its fifth edition.
The event, the only one in this sector in Italy, brings together the sector’s most important companies, which exhibit their products and the latest innovations from the world of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. RIABILItec will also host demonstrations of massage, taping and postural assessment techniques.
In the Riabilitec area, this year’s key player is EdiAcademy, official RiminiWellness partner for the section, which on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th May, is holding two important conferences. The first is dedicated to “Sports Podiatry, from medicine to wellness”, the second focussed on “Core stability training”, a system for training abdominal muscles (the “core”) by means of the practical application of mat exercises, with and without equipment, in order to strengthen the muscular groups and restore better postural alignment. This will be followed on both Saturday and Sunday by workshops dedicated to the two topics, with the issue of ECM credits.
Moreover, among the scientific appointments not to be missed, Convegni della salute (Health Conferences) organized by Davide Carli which, on Saturday 11th May from 3 pm, will focus attention on problems connected with shoulder, wrist and cartilaginous tissue traumatology in sportsmen and women, with a particular focus on possible rehabilitation treatment, above all as far as the prevention aspect is concerned.
On this occasion, speakers will include numerous professionals from this sector, including Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini, the shoulder surgeon who operated Valentino Rossi in 2010 and Andrea Dovizioso in 2012; Davide Carli, athletic trainer and ex world champion of martial arts; Dr. Riccardo Lucchetti, specialist in shoulder, wrist and hand surgery; Dr. Gianfranco Beltrami, specialist in Sports Medicine, cardiology and rehabilitative physiokinesis therapy. Plus, on the occasion of the conference, there will be a preview presentation of the book “Preparazione Atletica e Riabilitazione - fondamenti del movimento umano, scienzae traumatologia dello sport, principi di trattamento riabilitativo”, (Athletic Training and Rehabilitation - fundamentals of human movement, sports science and traumatology, principles of rehabilitative treatment) by Davide Carli and Silvia Di Giacomo.
Ample space will be dedicated this year to Chinesport, leading company in the physiotherapeutic and rehabilitative instrument sector, which, on the occasion of RiminiWellness, will present the Neurac rehabilitation method, of Norwegian origin, which consists in an active approach to rehabilitative treatment and physical exercise, by means of a system of ropes, slings and bungees, called Redcord, which enables to carry out suspension exercises able to improve muscular interaction and favour recovery of compromised muscular-skeletal functions.
