CALL TO ORDER

Roll Call was taken by Ms. Nicole Manning and a quorum was determined present.

I.  APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Ms. Louise Donahe, LD made a MOTION to approve the agenda as written. Ms. Elizabeth Carling, DOM SECONDED the motion which was PASSED by UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.

II.  APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES

July 27, 2012 Regular Meeting

Ms., Paula West, LD made a MOTION to approve the minutes of the July 27, 2012 regular meeting as written. Ms. Louise Donahe, LD SECONDED the motion which was PASSED by UNAMIMOUS APPROVAL.

V.  NEW BUSINESS:

a.  Election of Board Members

Chair:

Ms.Wanda Eastman, LD made a MOTION to nominate Ms. Paula West, LD as Chair of the Nutrition and Dietetic Practice Board. Ms. Louise Donahe, LD SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.

Vice Chair:

Ms. Louise Doanhe, LD made a MOTION to nominate Ms. Elizabeth Carling, DOM as Vice Chair of the Nutrition and Dietetic Practice Board. Ms. Paula West, LD SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.

Secretary:

Ms. Paula West, LD made a MOTION to nominate Ms. Wanda Eastman, LD Secretary of the Nutrition and Dietetic Practice Board Ms. Elizabeth Carling, DOM SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNANIMOUS APPROVAL

b.  Open Meetings Resolution

Ms. Louise Donahe, LD made a MOTION to approve the 2013 Open Meetings Act, as written. Ms. Paula West, LD SECONDED the motion which was PASSED by UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.

c.  Discuss next meeting dates:

The next meeting will be held on September 6th, 2013, at 1:00PM in Albuquerque, NM at the Regulation and Licensing Department, in the Main Conference Room.

d.  Ratification of Licenses issued by the Board staff between the dates of July 25th, 2012 thru April 1st, 2013:

Ms. Elizabeth Carling, DOM SECONDED the motion, which was PASSED by UNAMIMOUS APPROVAL.

e.  Parental Responsibility Act:

Ms. Louise Donahe, LD made a MOTION to approve the Joint Powers Agreement, as amended. Ms. Elizabeth Carling, DOM SECONDED the motion which was PASSED by UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.

Amendment 1: In line 3, of the Joint Powers Agreement, the letter “t” was added to “dietitians” to reflect the accepted vernacular of the Board.

f.  The resignation of Ms. Louise Donahe, LD read and delivered.

VI. EXECUTIVE SESSION: No Agenda items for Executive Session

VII. PUBLIC COMMENTS:

a.  NMSU students introduced themselves; they were attending for an assignment about public policy.

b.  Kristin Crosby, state policy director of the New Mexico Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, spoke on the Academy’s support through legislative outreach.

VIII.  ADJOURNMENT

There being no other business to come before the New Mexico Nutrition and Dietetics Practice Board, Ms. Paula West, LD made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting at 1:52 p.m., April 4th, 2013. Ms. Louise Donahe, LD SECONDED the motion. Motion PASSED by UNANIMOUS APPROVAL.
