Davidson asked permission to advertise to replace the closed circuit television in order to televise sewer lines. He said that this item was budgeted for 2010; the current equipment was purchased in 2002 and repair parts are becoming unavailable and repairs are becoming more frequent. He said that the equipment would be installed on the existing 2002 Ford E450. Vendors have voiced no interest in the existing equipment so he has considered advertising on the municipal website to sell the equipment.

Members Gardner and Smith moved and seconded to approve the request. The motion carried.

Davidson said that M.E. Simpson has completed the leak survey for the water department. They inspected 70 miles of water mains and some service lines through electronically enhanced listening devices, which are then correlated to find the point of the leak, within two feet. Simpson located thirteen leaks: one main line leak, three service line leaks and nine hydrant leaks. Davidson said that nine of the thirteen leaks have already been repaired. He estimated the loss of water from the leaks to be 60,500 gallons per day. Davidson explained that the retail value of water lost was $144.55 per day; so the survey would pay for itself in three and a half months.
