REGULAR MEETING

MARCH 24, 2014

A regular meeting of the Sherrill City Commission was held at 7:00 p.m. on March 24, 2014. Present were Mayor W. Vineall, Commissioners M. Hennessy, P. Hubbard, J. Merrill, J. Gilbert, City Manager B. Comis and City Clerk M. Holmes.

Mayor Vineall opened the meeting requesting a moment of silence for former longtime City Commissioner (1962-1970, 1974-1975) and Mayor (1970-1973), James Graves, who passed away this past week.

MINUTES

Motion was made by M. Hennessy and seconded by P. Hubbard that the minutes of the previous regular meeting be approved as written.

ELECTRIC RATES

M. Holmes reported that the City is looking at a rate increase for the electric rates in the city. A rate increase has to be approved by the regulator, the New York Power Authority. The city is in the midst of providing data to NYPA. Additional information will be forthcoming in the upcoming meetings.

LOCAL ORDINANCE #23 WEEDS & VEGATATION PUBLIC HEARING

R. Comis provided proposed changes to the Local Ordinance #23 which deals with weeds and vegetation on the property. The change expands for May 15 through September 15 to April 1 through November 1 the time that a property has to be maintained with regards to weeds and vegetation. A motion was made by J. Merrill and seconded by M. Hennessy that a public hearing be set for April 14, 2014 at 7:15pm for the proposed Local Ordinance #23 change.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Motion was made by J. Gilbert and seconded by M. Hennessy to go into executive session to discuss personnel matters relating to the City Manager and the position. Robert Comis announced his retirement effective at the end of July 2014.
