The course fee is $75 and covers: housing, meals on Saturday and books. Housing will be two per room and is dormitory style (includes bedding & towels). Upon receipt of your registration, you will be sent information regarding the location of Heartland Center for Spirituality in Great Bend and housing arrangements. Checks will not be cashed until after the lay speaking courses.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Lay Servant Basic Course
Teacher: Pastor Theresa Forshee
Macksville/Trousdale UMC
In Lay Servant Ministries: Lend to help individuals discern and respond to God's particular call on their lives. They encourage each person to recognize and employ his or her spiritual gifts for the Church to become what God intended it to be. This course invites participants to consider the importance of exercising servant leadership, developing future leaders, remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices, and being part of a group that holds members accountable in discipleship.
Advanced--Discover Your Spiritual Gifts
Teacher: Rev. Quentin Bennett
McPherson UMC
This course helps participants understand spiritual gifts and how the church can use them to fulfill its mission and ministry. Participants will also learn what it means to be a spiritual leader and will be equipped to lead others in exploring and using their spiritual gifts.
Advanced--Leading Worship
Teacher: Rev. Jane Voelkel
Halstead UMC
This course focuses on the ministry of the Lay Servant who either regularly or occasionally leads a group or congregation in worship.
Choose only one of the above courses.
