JOB DESCRIPTION
Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a young man in my 20’s living with my parents and older brother in Merthyr. I have complex needs due to mental health issues and have been diagnosed as Autistic, have Psychosis and intellectual disability. Because of these disabilities I experience changeable moods swings and can get frustrated and cross but I am never aggressive. I like routine and do not like to be rushed especially in the mornings when I need support and encouragement to getting ready for college or going out. I can be a little repetitive with some tasks and have some compulsive behaviour regarding cleanliness around food and especially public toilets. I enjoy going to the cinema, walking, drives in the car, going out for meals and looking in games shops. At home I enjoy helping my mother in the kitchen but need to be supervised at all times. I also play on my X box and watch music videos but don’t watch much television.
Because of the high level of support I require it would be beneficial if you have experience in this type of work especially with mental health issues. My parents would also give more details of my difficulties and the high level of support I need when out and about to any potential personal assistant.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The main purpose of the job is to provide me with the level of support I require to access activities in the community. This will help me be more independent, experience new activities and enable my parents to have some respite.
