Re: Accessing PACS Via Citrix Metaframe (Ver 12/10/2009)

MountAuburnHospital has upgraded to the new Philips Isite 3.6 PACS System and we wanted to review the prerequisites for accessing the system for the first time from your home or office (if your office is not on the MountAuburn network)via CITRIX. This CITRIX access works from both a PC or Apple MAC.Note that access to ISite while at a Mount Auburn/MAPS location is still simply via clicking the Isite icon on the desktop.

After you successfully access Isite remotely for the first time, you only need to execute step 4 below moving forward. But to get started you need to ensure you have some new/updated software on your home/office PC that requires you to have “Administrator” or “Poweruser” privileges on your PC. Below are the steps to get anything you may need to use ISite via CITRIX.

1) Request an "ITS" Account, but you most likely already have one.

Most physicians already have an ITS account they use to access Outlook email and MEDITECH via CITRIX. If not, follow this link to print a password request form and follow submission instructions. Just check "ITS (Network Account)" in the "Check appropriate box:" section near the bottom of the first page. Then fax to Information Systems at 617-868-1458.

2) Request an ISite PACS account:

oMany physicians already have a PACS account. If not, contact our PACS

Administrator, Darren Muccioli, to request a username and password for

the PACS system. You can reach Darren at 617-499-5712 or at

3)Install CITRIX Metaframe (you only have to perform CITRIX install one time)

o

o Click on “WebEmail” (in top blue margin - Click on the word "WebEmail")

o Click “Metaframe Installation”

- You can view FAQ's on metaframe on this page (optional)

- Click 'HERE' beside your operating system (Vista,XP,Macintosh…)

- Read all instructions

- Install as instructed

4) Accessing the Link to MountAuburnHospital ISite PACS Via Citrix:

A) Open your browser to address:

B) Click "CareWeb" from the left blue margin

C) Click "Mt Auburn ISite PACS (Via Citrix)"

D) Login to CITRIX with your ITS username/password

E) Login to ISite PACS with your PACS username/password

F) Log off ISite PACS when done and window will close.

Note: To save “clicks” in step #4 in the future, you can create a “shortcut” on your Windows Desktop if you prefer. Follow steps A-B above, then ‘right click’ on "Mt Auburn ISite PACS (Via Citrix)". Click “Copy Shortcut”. Then place the cursor on your windows desktop screen, ‘right-click’, and then click “Paste Shortcut”. This will create a new icon on your desktop “Mt Auburn ISite PACS (Via Citrix)" which you can click to bring you directly to step “D” above.
