LOCATION: Each Moy Park Site (note – this role not available at all sites)
2. JOB PURPOSE
To assist the technical manager in ensuring that site technical requirements are met. Interacting with the technical and operations teams to drive standards and customer expectations forward. To drive best practice through QA Managers and teams.
3. RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1FINANCIAL
Awareness of and support for factory commercial goalsconducive with Technical standards. Efficient running of technical dept.
3.2 STAFF
Direct - QA Managers.
Indirect – QA Auditors
3.3ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE / REPORTING LINE
Flat structure reporting to technical manager and covering for technical manager in their absence.

4. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring all customer and third party audits exceed requirements.
  • Support product quality and traceability using internal audit systems.
  • Ensuring all new systems and technology meet customer requirements in a professional and refined manner.
  • Streamlining all reporting/process control and monitoring systems within the factory environment.
  • Co-ordinating QAM operation and ensuring all technical requirements are met on site.
  • Maintaining site technical integrity
  • Ensure daily technical issues are followed up and dealt with by relevant management
  • Support the Implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of a HACCP based quality system, such that, as a minimum, required approvals (typically BRC and customer standards) are achieved and food quality/safety/legality standards are consistently met
  • Assist the Technical Manager in developing the quality management systems in processes in line with legal, customer, company and other best practice requirements, which create, maintain and improve the integrity and food safety and quality of all products manufactured.
  • Develop and maintain strong leadership across the technical function, ensuring at all times that a well-structured and motivated team is in place.
  • Managing a a team of quality managers.
  • Manage, investigate and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Supporting the site technical manager where appropriate.
  • Ensuring HACCP criteria for the site is maintained
  • Deputising for site technical manager
  • Support group initiatives or projects as required, both within technical and the business in general
  • To monitor and control any negative environmental impact arising from the processes within area of responsibility; ensuring that all direct reports and colleagues are briefed and clear in regards to their responsibilities as outlined in the Moy Park Group Risk Management System Manual.
  • To work in accordance with Health & Safety as outlined in the Health & Safety and Environmental Responsibilities DCN 2586.
  • Any other duties as may be required to fulfil the needs of the post.

5. MEASURABLE OUTPUTS
  • Site Technical FSQI targets e.g product micro, environmental micro
  • Complaints in line with customer targets
  • Robust complaints reduction plan – with clear objectives and monitoring
  • Green Internal Audit performance against CCP performance and Quality Management systems
  • Product Quality Index Score
  • NCN sign off plan - green internal audit status.
  • Rationalisation process – clear measurable targets in line with KPIs
  • Green Customer Scorecards

6. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential / Desirable
  • 3rd level qualification in relevant discipline, or equivalent.
  • Quality management experience
  • Experience in the food industry
  • Experience with major multiples
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and organisational skills.
  • Team leadership qualities.
  • Initiative, self-motivated, well organised and assertive.
  • Logical approach, excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Working knowledge of BRC standard, HACCP, Food Legislation, and Food Hygiene

  • Training, project management and coaching skills.
  • Chilled food, agri fresh and high risk experience
  • Advanced Diploma in Applied HACCP Principles.
  • Poultry processing knowledge
  • Poultry cooking / frying understanding
