Meeting Minutes

December 17, 2013

Board Members: President: Lisa Ship (Resigned 12/18/13)

Vice President: Stephanie VanBeekum

Treasurer: Wendy Clark

Secretary: Joann Jacobs

Present: Coach MacGowan, Principal - Ian Deonise, Tami Taylor, Lisa Shipp, Wendy Clark, Troy Clark, Joann Jacobs, Stephanie VanBeekum, Terry Poorten, Shauna Taylor, Dave Crask, Kim Murphy, Erwin Jones, Torin Johnson. Thank you everyone who attended.

Coach MacGowan: Coach stressed that everyone needs to get along. Concession stand money - Two parents (whoever is working the stand during the Varsity Game) need to count the money at the end of each game. Wendy will deposit the money the next day. We should not be giving the boys meals from the snack bar. If any of the parents want to organize a potluck meal for a particular team they may do so. Coach was asked if we could have the boy’s stats on the school website. He said if any of the parents want to volunteer to take stats, he would be more than happy to do this.

Principal Ian Deonise: Mr. Deonise stressed that there is no boss within the booster club, all the parents are volunteers and are here to help out the athletes and coaches. He said they are not asking anyone to step down. PTO did an audit, and everything is fine.

Tami Taylor brought up that we were not following our own guidelines within the booster club. It was decided that we will start running our meetings more formal. Lisa Ship said that we would have to have someone take minutes. We decided that we need a secretary. Joann Jacobs was asked and accepted. Nobody opposed.

With Tami Taylors’ assistance, the following motions were Presented and Approved:

• Motion to purchase magnets with the Varsity players names to go on their lockers in the Varsity Locker room. Total Cost $95.00

• Motion to approve the cost of Coach taking the Varsity players to a movie & lunch this Friday, December 20th. Lisa will contact the restaurant to confirm that Coach can pay with a Booster Club Check.

• Motion to allocate a portion of the Free Throw proceeds to the School Student Account. We received $4752.74 in pledges - $3510.76 of this went to pay for the Boys Warm-ups. The remaining $1241.98 was decided to put in the School Student Account in the book store. We made this decision by the fact that the boys did the majority on this fundraiser.

• Motion to allocate a portion of the $376.00 Car Wash proceeds to the Student Account. We decided that ½ of this ($188.00) should be put into the School Student Account in the book store.

Next Meeting: Monday, January 27, 2014 @ 6:30 in the gym classroom. Discussion: Seniors Day & End of Year Banquet.
