Shakespeare Competition The All The World’s A Stage competition in the library on Friday saw pupils performing speeches from plays and all wowed an enthusiastic audience. It was brilliant to see pupils and staff coming along to support their classmates and colleagues. This event was opened by our own Queen Elizabeth 1 (Mrs Munro) who was very regal and welcomed everyone to the event. Thank you to our judges: Mrs Ogg, Mr Valentine and Sophie Wink , who did not have an easy task. Thank you also to Holly Carmichael and Rhiannon Smith in S6 for their wonderful musical performances. Thanks to Ms O’Reilly and Nathan Anderson in S2 for the Elizabethan games. Prince Hamlet (Mr McWhirter) announced the winner and runner-up of the competition and closed the event with a flourish.

Winner was Hannah Smit in S6, with her outstanding performance as Helena from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Runners-up were Jacob Holder, Daniel Campbell and Matthew Hamilton in S2, with their witty interpretation of Act one Scene 1 in Romeo and Juliet. Thank you to all performers. It was a great credit to you for learning the lines and delivering them in the way Shakespeare intended. Top class performers:

Louis Russell, Abbie Bain, Charlotte Durrant, Rosie Doonan, Urquhart Dyce, Jacob Holder, Matthew Hamilton, Daniel Campbell, Euan Adams, Ben Bradshaw, Corey Armit and Hannah Smit.
