Committee Chairman Linnertz called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m.

Old Business

I. Power Plant

a. Plant Report

July 13, 2014 will be the annual urge test.

II. West Gas Line Project

a. Easements/Uffleman

Nothing to report.

III. Infiltration Project

a. Pipe Lining

Nothing to report, remove from agenda.

IV. Mediacom Contract

Nothing to report.

V. Retention Tank Issue

Louie has tried to get Ehret to come to a meeting with no response. Korte-Luitjohn has done some repair work and the bill is around $8400 at this point. Louie met with Curray and another consultant, they want to drain the tank and then inspect. The hope is Ehret contacts their insurance company to reimburse us for the repair costs.

VI. Water Main Replacement Project

Nothing new.

VII. Bids

1. Golf Course Bike Trail

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to enter into a contract with Moore Asphalt Inc. for the pouring of the bike trail from the golf course to the Sports Complex, not to exceed $131.00 per ton. Carried.

2. Truck #27 Replacement

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member Nail to purchase a 2014 bucket truck from ALTEC Industries in the amount of $99,776.00. Carried.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member White to sell Truck #27 on govdeals.com. Carried.

VIII. Locust Street Project

Last month Locust Street was discussed and Jeff and Louie went over the street to decide if it could be patched. Louie recommended waiting until summer of 2015 since the street will need to be closed 5 days and we are halfway into summer already.

IX. Truck #8 Replacement

Louie wants to buy a new truck bed for approx. $4500, that will fit on any new truck they buy to replace #8 in the future. This will help get by so there is no hurry to buy a replacement.

X. Water Rates

This issue has come up because the meters only get read every other month.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to change the water rates to: residential $3.85 per 1000 gallon with a flat fee of $6 per month and commercial flat fee of $9 per month. Carried.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member White to accept the minutes from the May 22, 2014 meeting. Carried.

II. Training Requests

1. Tom Caverly

2. Cliff Crafton

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to send Tom Caverly and Cliff Crafton to a one day training entitled: “Power Capacitor Class” being held in Earth City, MO on August 12, 2014 with no registration fee. Carried.

III. Matt Shields—Promotion to Electric Apprentice II

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt to promote Matt Shields to Electric Apprentice II position with the rate of pay at $20.40 per hour. Carried.

IV. Gas Ordinance Change—Allow Flex Pipe

Louie wants to allow underground flex gas pipe, after checking our insurance and other cities, he feels we can feel comfortable allowing it in outdoor application.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Linnertz, seconded by Committee Member White to approve Ordinance #1328, “An Ordinance Amending Chapter 38 of the Revised Code of Ordinances Pertaining to the Gas System.” Carried.
