Rajesh Kumar, P.S. Jahangir Puri. Co-ordination of all the six sub teams working with different assigned tasks was controlled by SHO Jahangirpuri. Two teams headed by Inspr. Rohtash Singh were sent to U.P. for physical surveillance, which were in regular contact with Addl. DCP/NW, Sh. Braham Singh.

On the basis of inputs provided by the teams based in Delhi two suspects were called in the Police Station. After Interrogation of local suspects and technical scrutiny of call details, it was established that kidnapped boy was with accused Sri Ram and Virender Singh who were assisted by two other accused namely Vijay (who is Ist cousin of Lady Uma, the mother of kidnapped boy) and Mangal. These two local suspects/accused persons were in contact and thus passing on vital information to the other two accused based in U.P. about the ongoing developments at Delhi. These accused persons at U.P. got a whiff of police movement behind them from their local contacts at Delhi. Subsequently, they were moving swiftly from one place to another. Our teams were provided information on the basis of physical and technical intelligence continuously about the movements of culprits and the kidnapped boy. The dedicated Police team reached at Vill. Mirza Pur in Shahjahan Pur Distt. U.P. in the afternoon of 20.9.2007 and raided the specific hide-out of the culprits. Meanwhile, it was learnt that the sister of one of the accused Sri Ram resides at Vill. Mishri Pur, Distt. Hardoi, U.P., therefore another team was sent towards Hardoi. Having no alternative and feeling the heat of pressure exerted by the raiding teams of Delhi Police both the accused left the kidnapped boy at railway track near Vill. Mishri Pur, P.S. Shahbad Pur, Distt. Hardoi, U.P. This area of U.P. is infamous for sheltering kidnappers as the kidnapping is quite rampant there. Inspite of stiff resistance by the local residents, the Delhi Police sleuths rescued the child, overpowered the kidnappers with the minimum use of force and with the support provided by U.P. Police..

The emotional trauma of the grieving family ended with Rahul being handed over to his mother’s lap. The family reunion left everybody present there spellbound with atmosphere becoming emotionally surcharged. The local residents who were present in hundred at P.S. Jahangirpuri felicitated the entire team. This was an unprecedented gathering of common people deposing utmost faith and trust in Delhi Police.

Further investigation of the case is in progress. Criminal background and detail of gang members, the modus-operandi and other angles involved in the kidnapping are being cross checked and verified.
