Pickpocket arrested : Sabji Mandi police arrested one Manoj @ Sanjay, 25 years R/o Majnu Ka Tilla yesterday. According to DCP/North office he was caught red handed at Malkaganj red light while he stole some money from the cash bag of a DTC bus conductor of Route No. 212 plying from Nand Nagri to Anand Parvat. The conductor raised an alarm and caught him with the help of passengers. He was later handed over to local police. A case under appropriate section has been registered. Further investigation is in process.

1. A male, age around 5’6”, shallow complexion, long face, normal built, wearing white shirt without lower portion of body found on 4-8-2008.

2. A female, age around 50/55 years, height 5’2”, shallow complexion, long 3. face, thin built, wearing blue blouse and red petticoat, found on 1-8-2008.

3. A male, age around 45/50 years, height wheatish complexion, normal built, wearing white kurta and payajama, found on 4-8-2008.

H.N.Din Railway police have sought public help in identifying the following bodies:-

1. A male, age around 35-40 years, height 5’6”, shallow complexion. Long face. Thin built, wearing only lungi, found on 30-7-2008.

2. A male, age around 45/50 years, height 5’6”, shallow comoplexion, round face, lanky built, wearing white/red/black lines shirt and blue pant found on 30-7-2008.

One proclaimed offender arrested

On 5.8.08, H.C. Naresh Kumar of PS-Jahangir Puri, Delhi received information about a proclaimed offender Raju S/o Dilbahadur, R/o Jhuggi No. E-119, Ravidas Camp, Mother Dairy, Patparganj, Delhi. HC Naresh Kumar after verification apprehended Raju and produced him before the concerned MM. Raju was declared P.O. on 28.5.08 in case FIR No. 607/04 u/s 61/1/14 Excise Act, PS-Pandav Nagar, Delhi by the court of Sh. G.N. Pandey, MM, Karkardooma Court, Delhi. P.O. Raju has been sent to judicial custody on 5.8.08. A report vide DD No. 29-A dated 5.8.08 u/s 41.1© Cr.P.C. has been lodged in PS-Jahangir Puri, Delhi.

On 16.1.2008 Smt. Rita Singh W/o Sh. Virender Singh, R/o House of Balbir, Village Rajapur, Sector-9, Rohini, Delhi reported at PS Prashant Vihar that one Rickshaw Puller namely Suraj had kidnapped her younger son Anurag, aged 7-years on 15.1.2008 evening. A case FIR No.34/08 u/s 363-IPC was registered at PS Prashant Vihar immediately and investigation was entrusted to S.I. Bineet Pandey, who made all out efforts to search the accused and the kidnapped boy. Raids were conducted at the suspected hide outs, all India message was flashed, missing person’s squad was informed and sources were deployed. On tip of information that the native place of the accused is somewhere in District Nawada of Bihar, a special message was sent to S.S.P., Nawada, Bihar. On this information the local police of PS Hisua, District Nawada, Bihar, arrested the accused from his house at Village Bajra, PS Hisua, District Nawada, Bihar and the kidnapped boy was recovered. On receipt of information from PS Hisua, I.O./SI Bineet Pandey alongwith staff dispatched to PS Hisua, District Nawada, Bihar and brought the accused as well as the victim to Delhi. The victim was handed over to his parents and the accused was sent to judicial custody.

During interrogation the accused stated that he had given a loan of Rs..4,000/- to Mr. Virender Singh, father of the victim, which he did not return. Hence, he took the boy to his native village.

Attempted bank fraud busted: Four accused arrested

South District police has arrested four accused persons involved in attempted cheating by fraudulently attempting to encash the cheques issued by different borrowers in favour of a private bank against the loan and recovered forged Identity proofs and cheques from their possession.

ACCUSED ARRESTED ARE:

1.  Sunil Tyagi Age 43 years s/o Tika Ram r/o. B-1/71 DLF Ghaziabad, U.P.

2.  Sunny Kumar Age 23 years s/o Shiv Narayan r/o N-39 Vishnu Garden, New Delhi. .

3.  Dilshad Age 32 years s/o Shabir Khan r/o A-70 Khayala, New Delhi.

4.  Rajinder Bhatia, Age 41 years, s/o Puran Chand Bhatia r/o L-10 A, Seikh Sarai, Phase–II, New Delhi.

INCIDENT AND INVESTIGATION:

On 01.01.08, Manager Oriental Bank Of Commerce E Block, Greater Kailash–I, reported that an account opened by the name of “YES BANKIM” only a couple of days earlier has some suspicious transactions. The matter was marked to SI Nirbhey Kumar for further enquiry. It was learnt that on 28.07.08 a person has opened an account with the branch in the name of “Yes Bankim” r/o Madhuban, Nirman Vihar, Delhi and on 31.07.08 the person accompanying the account holder was insisting for issuing Cheque Book and ATM Card. As the profile of account holder was suspicious, the manager deferred the request and contacted the police. During the enquiry it was revealed that three cheques worth Rs. 64646/- and two cheques worth Rs. 102702/- have been deposited during the last two days. The cheques valued Rs.64646/- were traced to be issued by one Md. Mustafa of Laxmi Nagar.

A team comprising of SI Nirbhey Kumar, HC Bansi Lal, Cts. Brij Lal, Bijay Shankar & Ajeet Singh headed by Inspr. Dharamvir Joshi SHO, PS Greater Kailash under the supervision of Dr. Ram Gopal Naik, ACP/Greater Kailash was constituted to enquire into the matter and apprehend the accused.

The team members were strategically deployed in plain cloths around the cabin of the manager and the account holder was called by the Bank manager on the pretext of handing over the demanded Cheque Book and the ATM Card. At about 12.45 PM, the account holder accompanied by one more person entered the cabin of Branch Manager who was sitting with Md. Mustafa the complainant and after signal from the Bank Manager, they were apprehended and questioned by the police personnel present in plain cloths. The account holder and the accomplice were identified as Dilshad S/o Shabir Khan r/o A-70 Khayala, New Delhi and Sunny Kumar s/o Shiv Narayan r/o N-39 Vishnu Garden, New Delhi.

MODUS OPERANDI

On sustained interrogation, they disclosed that the master mind of the gang is one Sunil Tyagi who had earlier worked as DST(Direct Selling Team) of ICICI Bank and had the complete knowledge of functioning of bank in loan matters. Sunil Tyagi had left the work as DST of ICICI bank in November 07 and started working free lance by using his old contacts for providing loan to the needy persons. He formulated a plan to earn money by fleecing the borrowers and lured the other accused to join him for making easy money. The gang members used to get the details of the persons whose loans were rejected by the banks and contact them with promises of providing loan through YES BANK. They used to collect cheques from the clients in favour of YES BANK without filling dates. Later on they used to forge the cheque by altering YES BANK to YES BANKIM. The said account was opened by accused Dilshad. Following the disclosure a case vide FIR No.106/08 U/s 420/468/467/471/120-B IPC PS Greater Kailash-I was registered and the two accused were arrested. The other two accused namely Rajinder Bhatiya who introduced the account holder to the bank on forged credentials and the master mind Sunil Tyagi were also arrested from Nehru Place.

RECOVERY

Forged Voter ID Card, Counter foil receipts, Bank Passbook, Forged Cheques have been seized from the possession of the accused.

Further investigation is in progress.

5450 quarters of illicit liquor seized : Two cars used in transporting also seized

During the week long drive against the bootleggers, the South District Police has arrested four persons involved in bootlegging, and seized 5450 quarters of illicit liquor along with two Cars being used for transporting the Illicit Liquor.

ACCUSED ARRESTED ARE :

1.  Hari Om S/o Ghuran Chaudhary R/o H. No. WZ 283/72, West Block, Vishnu Garden, Tilak Nagar Delhi.

2.  Ashok S/o Kanwar Singh R/o 377 Nangli Dairy, Najafgarh. New Delhi

3.  Smt. Shanti Devi D/o Late Het Ram R/o Jhuggi No.22, Khodha Colony, Old Jasola Village, New Delhi.

4.  Jal Singh S/o Heera Lal R/o H. No. 374, Phase-III, J.J. Colony, Madan Pur Khadar, New Delhi.

INCIDENT

On 01.08.2008, at about 08.40 AM, HC Rajender Singh along with Cts. Subhash and Raj Kumar of PS Mehrauli while patrolling, received a secret information that a white colour Santro Car bearing Registration No. DL 3C AB 5538 shall be coming from Sangam Vihar side carrying illicit liquor and proceed towards Neb Sarai. The information was conveyed to Shri Mehar Singh ACP/Hauz Khas who directed Inspr. K.P. Kukreti SHO/Mehrauli to get the vehicles checked by installing barricades by constituting a team of the staff present at the spot. At about 09.00 AM, a white colour Santro Car bearing registration No. DL 3C AB 5538 was signalled to stop at the barricades and checked. On checking the vehicle a total no. 2750 quarters of illicit liquor was discovered in side the Car. A case vide FIR No. 391/08 U/s 61/78 Ex. Act. was registered and the driver of the vehicle identified as Hari Om S/o Ghuran Chaudhary R/o H. No. WZ 283/72, West Block, Vishnu Garden, Tilak Nagar Delhi. was arrested. The vehicle use for transporting the illicit liquor was also seized.

In the second incident HC Ajeet Singh along with Ct. Jitenter, Srawan, Naresh and Naveen while patrolling along MB Road in the area of PS Sangam Vihar at about 09.30 AM, received a secret information that a Silver colour Ford Ikon Car bearing Registration No. DL 1C H 7722 shall be coming from Badar Pur side carrying illicit liquor and proceed towards Mehrauli. The information was conveyed to Shri Rakesh Pawariya ACP/Kalkaji who directed Inspr. S.P. Yadav SHO/Sangam Vihar to get the vehicles checked by installing barricades by constituting a team of the staff present at the spot. At about 10.00 AM, a Silver colour Ford Ikon Car bearing Registration No. DL 1C H 7722 was signalled to stop at the barricades and checked. On checking the vehicle a total no. 2100 quarters of illicit liquor was discovered in side the Car. A case vide FIR No. 408/08 U/s 61/78 Ex. Act. Was registered and the driver of the vehicle identified as Ashok S/o Kanwar Singh R/o 377 Nangli Dairy, Najafgarh. New Delhi was arrested. The vehicle use for transporting the illicit liquor was also seized.

In the third incident on 01.08.08, at about 09.30 PM, HC Shiv Charan along with Ct. Ram Kamal while on patrolling in the area of PS Sarita Vihar, received a secret information and seized 300 quarters of illicit liquor from a house belonging to one Jal Singh S/o Heera Lal R/o H. No. 374, Phase-III, J.J. Colony, Madan Pur Khadar, New Delhi and arrested him vide FIR No.408/08 U/s 61-1-14 Ex. Act. PS Sarita Vihar.

On 04.08.08, at about 05.00 PM, HC Khalil Ahmad along with Ct. Neeraj and L/Ct. Meena while patrolling in the area of Jasola, PS Sarita Vihar, received a secret information and seized 300 quarters of illicit liquor from a slum belonging to one Smt. Shanti Devi D/o Late Het Ram R/o Jhuggi No.22, Khodha Colony, Old Jasola Village, New Delhi and arrested her vide FIR No.415/08 U/s 61-1-14 Ex. Act. PS Sarita Vihar.

All the four recoveries of illicit liquor are the part of the special drive launched against Bootleggers against hoarding of illicit liquor in view of the festive seasons and dry days falling ahead due to Raksha Bandan and Independence Day.

MAID ARRESTED : STOLEN AMOUNT OF Rs.1,90,000 RECOVERED

With the arrest of one Aarti Paira aged 19 years D/o Late Shri Harathan Paira R/o Village Nalya, PS Aegra, District Midnapur, West Bengal, South District police has solvd a theft case of Greater Kailash-I and recovered Rs.1,90,000/- out of stolen amount of Rs.1,95,000/- at her instance.

INCIDENT

Mr. D.R. Ahuja r/o N-83, Greater Kailash-I, New Delhi reported that his maid servant had fled away after stealing an amount of Rs.1,95,000 which was kept for his treatment. On this complaint, a case vide FIR No.92/08 dated 30.06.08 u/s 381/411 IPC PS Greater Kailash was registered and investigation taken up.

INVESTIGATION & TEAM

During investigation, it revealed that Mr. D.R. Ahuja has not got his maid servant verified in spite of repeated requests by the beat staff. There was no information available with Mr. Ahuja except the name of the maid and the fact that she was sent by his daughter Mrs. Munjal r/o Safdarjang Enclave, New Delhi.

A team consisting of SI P.D. Singhal, ASI Umed Singh, HCs Ajeet Singh, Ravinder, Mukesh, Constables Kaushalya, Meenakshi and Pooranmal under the leadership of SHO/Greater Kailash Inspr. Dharamvir Joshi and supervision of ACP/Greater Kailash Dr. Ram Gopal Naik was constituted to apprehend the accused and solve the case.

During enquiry from Mrs. Munjal, it was revealed that she also does not know the whereabouts of Aarti as she has not got her verified. She has recruited her in reference to one Shashank, working as a Chowkidar in the locality. Shashank was interrogated at length. He told that he has seen this girl visiting at Village Mohamadpur, R.K.Puram, New Delhi. Another maid servant was also interrogated. She also could not tell anything about Aarti. But she told that she and Aarti had taken photographs from Shiva Digital Studio, 95, CSP, DDA Flats, Safdarjang Enclave, New Delhi. Members of the police team immediately went to the studio and made a search for 5-6 months records of the photo studio and got the photograph of Aarti at the instance of this maid servant. Then with the help of Chowkidar of RWA, the house where Aarti used to visit was identified. The photograph of Aarti was shown to one Prakash and his wife. They told that this girl was visiting his tenants viz. Vishu and Vishan Dass, but none of them is available in the house.
