A.  Statement of Major Focus and Objectives of the Revised Program

The History Department voted on February 5, 2004, to eliminate History 100--Introduction to History-- from its course offerings and therefore no longer be a requirement for its History majors. The department feels that the objectives of the course could be met in other ways.

The credits required for the major would change from 49 to 48.

B.  New Catalog Content

No change except that History 100 would be deleted and the credits requirement would be reduced from 49 to 48.

C.  Description of Revisions

See attached for a comparison of the current and proposed programs.
