Homework Policy

Mrs. Noon assigns homework every Monday-Thursday and sometimes on Fridays. Completion of homework assignments in Mathematics is crucial to students developing math fluency and problem solving skills. Mrs. Noon grades every homework assignment, everyday. Homework counts for 35% of a student’s grade in Math. Students earn a Responsibility grade for completing homework on time. If homework is late, 10 percentage points will be subtracted from the Responsibility grade for each late day. Students also earn a Homework grade based on correctness. Responsibility (homework completion) counts for 10% and Homework correctness counts for 25% of each student’s overall average. Students should show work on every homework assignment. If work is completed on a separate sheet of paper, it should be attached to the homework sheet.

Tutoring

Mrs. Noon will provide daily tutoring and homework help during Brain Power. Mrs. Noon will identify students needing help and pull them in small group during this time. Additionally, students wishing to receive homework help may ask for a Brain Power pass at any time.

Pre-AP

In Pre-AP Mrs. Noon will teach and assess 6th grade Math concepts at an accelerated pace. Using the students as her guide, Mrs. Noon will incorporate 7th (and sometimes 8th) grade concepts whenever possible. Often, homework assignments will have a Pre-AP extension, Pre-AP students should complete the entire assignment.
