You go into a local motorcycle shop to look at a new bike for yourself.
You have settled on a 2006 NEW Goldwing.
Along with the coffee brewer, air conditioner, AIRBAGS, and DVD in-seat screen for your passenger, you are interested in braking options for the bike.
What would you choose?

Scenario # 1Maximum Braking Technique
You approach an intersection in downtown Seattle. You have the right-of-way and the green light. You are the second vehicle passing through the intersection at 4th and Pike.
You notice out of the corner view (to your right) that a delivery truck is speeding toward the intersection - not stopping.
You have limited space to maneuver. The right (sidewalk) is filled with pedestrians. The left (middle lane) is filled with cars.
What would you do ?

Scenario # 2Skidding and Technique
On your motorcycle at 5pm, riding under the Convention Center, northbound I-5, attempting to take the Mercer Street exit: a ‘cage-driver’ (car) talking on the cell phone, while putting on make-up, starts to merge from the (left side) on-ramp into your lane – without looking/noticing you and your cool bike. You realize that a car (from your right side) is also trying to take the open car length spot that is open directly in front of you. Two merging vehicles – for the same lane position – smash into each other directly in front of you.
Ms. makeup ‘cage-driver’ can’t go back into her lane –it’s already filled with another car merging on to I-5. The car that came from the right lane slams on the brakes causing both cars (seeming they are now stuck together) to come to a screeching spinning halt.
The lane in front of you is now filled with cars that just had an accident. The lane to your right is filled with passing traffic. The lane to your left is filled with people merging on to I-5.
You initiate a maximum braking technique to avoid the collision and your front tire starts to skid upon the oil residue that is in the middle of your lane.
What would YOU do ?
Thoughts:

Scenario # 3Swerving vs. Braking
On your motorcycle 7:30pm, riding south on I-5 just north of the I-90 overpass, in the commuter lanes. (Traveling at the speed limit –of course !) You are following a pick-up truck that is about 6 car lengths in front of you.
As the truck goes over the overpass, it hops a bit, and a vividly colored (greens, yellows, browns & stained wood framed) chair bounces out of the bed of the truck.
In a split second you realize that there is a chair is breaking up IN your lane . . .
Immediately to your left (about 1 foot out of your lane) is a cement control barrier. . .
To your right is a semi-truck (tractor trailer / 18 wheeler) who changing lanes into the far right lane . . .
There is a HUGE black Yukon less than a cars length behind you . . . trying to read bumper stickers that you don’t have. . . . .
