  • In the line of Action 5, the effect of combined organic and inorganic fertilization on barley and wheat growth (second cereal cultivation) in open field is evaluated. The first top-dressing fertilization has been applied to the soils and barley and wheat cultivations are is progress.In Action 6, cultivation of lettuce, rocket, lamb’s lettuce, basil, rosemary and cabbage was implemented in greenhouse and in open field. All trials have been completed and data have been evaluated.

Six deliverables are prepared in the line of Actions 5 and 6, according to the proposal.Collection of experimental data from the demonstration Actions 5 and 6 is in progress. These data are sent by Spanish and Italian partners to TUC and SIGNOSIS and areconsidered in the line of Actions 7 and 8.

  • In the line of Action 7, updated data are collected from Spanish and Italian partners. Deliverables are revised regarding Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) for the processes carried out in Italy and Spain, risk analysisusing the GIS-based DRASTIC model for all the demonstration areas considered and techno-economical and environmental assessment of the main processes.
  • In the line of Action 9, various dissemination activities are implemented:

-The project website the Facebook ( Project?fref=ts) and Twitter (@WasteReuse) fan pages are continuously updated.

-Visits of farmers and stakeholders at demonstration areas in Spain and Italy are in progress.

-An episode of TV format “AgricUltura News” was recorded at CERSAA’s premises regarding project activities and it will be broadcasted on a Regional TV channel on 09/05/2015.

-The Spanish workshop was successfully organized in the morning of 22 April 2015 at CEBAS-CSIC premises, Murcia, Spain. Leaflets, newsletters, brochures and USB sticks with the presentations of the partners of the project have been distributed to the participants.

-A monitoring meeting was organized by the coordinating beneficiary (TUC) on 23 April 2015 at CEBAS-CSIC premises, Murcia, Spain. Scientists from all beneficiaries as well as Mr Elias Demian, the monitoring expert from the NEEMO EEIG - Prospect C&S, participated in the meeting. Minutes of the meeting including the agenda, the list with the names of the participants and photos of the meeting are prepared by TUC and will be sent to the partners by the beginning of May 2015.

-WASTEREUSE partners participated in the “III International Symposium on Organic Matter Management and Compost Use in Horticulture” ( which was held in Murcia, Spain, between 20-24 April 2015, with two posters and one oral presentation prepared in the line of the project.
