Based on the best-selling series of novels by Kate Mosse, Labyrinth arrives on DVD July 15 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Labyrinth will also be available on Digital HD May 24th. The CW mini-series stars John Hurt (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy), Sebastian Stan (TV’s “Gossip Girl”), Jessica Brown Findlay (TV’s “Downton Abbey”), Vanessa Kirby (About Time), Claudia Gerini (The Legend of Kaspar Hauser) and Katie McGrath (TV’s “Dracula) along with Tony Curran (TV’s “Defiance”) and Tom Felton (The Harry Potter series). This time traveling adaptation follows the lives of two women, separated by centuries but united by a common quest. The Labyrinth DVD includes a “making of” featurette and will be available for the suggested retail price of $19.98.
In Carcassonne, France, in the year 1209, 17-year-old Alais (Brown Findlay) is given a mysterious book by her father (Keogh). Alais realizes that her destiny lies in keeping the secret of the labyrinth safe. Eight centuries later Alice Tanner (Kirby) realizes she’s disturbed something that was meant to remain hidden. Somehow, a link to a horrific past – Alice’s own past – has been revealed.
