Professor Lesley King

Professor Lesley King, Professional Development Consultant for the University of Law, is a member of the Law Society’s Wills & Equity Committee and the Probate & Estates Committee of STEP. She is co-author of Wills, Taxation and Administration: A Practical Guide; A Modern Approach to Wills, Administration and Estate Planning (with Precedents); A Modern Approach to Lifetime Tax Planning for Private Clients (with Precedents); A Practitioner’s Guide to Wills; Wills: A Practical Guideand editor of The Probate Practitioner’s Handbook. She is a contributor to the Wills and Administration and Trusts volumes of Halsbury’s Laws. She is the wills and probate columnist for the Law Society Gazette, and writes and lectures extensively on wills, taxation and related matters.

Gill Steel

Gill is a compelling seminar, in house and conference speaker with a strong gift for making topics in private client practice practical, engaging, authoritative and informative. Gill currently works as a consultant with Blake Morgan LLP having run her own practice until 2013. In 2000 Gill set up LawSkills Ltd offering technical and skills training for the Private Client Practitioner which is complemented by a dedicated and active website Gill is author of The Law Society’s Trust Practitioner’s Handbook, Consultant editor for Tolley’s IHT & Trusts & Estates Guidance service and a solicitor with an MBA in Legal Practice Management. She is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) UK Practice Committee and the Association of Taxation Technicians.

From M5 Motorway, Junction 19 (Gordano Services):

Take A369, following signs for Easton-in-Gordano and Clifton. Pass the Rudgeleigh Inn on your left. Follow the road past the petrol station on your right. Enter outskirts of Abbots Leigh, passing signpost on your left for Ham Green/Pill. Continue along A369, down the hill; prepare to turn left into the drive leading to Leigh Court. Continue along the drive passing Brackenwood Nurseries on right and Freeway Day Centre on the left. The road sweeps to the right into a one-way system that leads to the main house. Please follow signs for the car park.

From Clifton Suspension Bridge:

From Clifton, follow signs for Clifton Suspension Bridge (toll £1.00). Over bridge, at first set of traffic lights (junction with Rownham Hill) turn right on A369 towards M5 motorway. At next set of lights (junction with Beggar Bush Lane) go straight across, still towards the motorway. Enter outskirts of Abbots Leigh; continue past The George Inn on left, caution as the road narrows. As road bends, prepare to turn right into the drive leading to Leigh Court. Continue along driveway passing Brackenwood Nurseries on right and Freeways Day Centre on left. The road sweeps into a one-way system and leads to main house. Please follow signs to the car park.

Booking conditions:

  1. Bookings can be submitted at any stage prior to the event, subject to availability. There are a limited number of places, therefore early booking is recommended. In the event of the booking not being accepted by Solicitors for the Elderly, the total amount will be refunded.
  1. Payment must be received in full prior to attendance of the course.
  1. All speakers are correct at the time of printing, but are subject to variation without notice.
  1. If the delegate cancels after the booking has been accepted, the delegate will be liable to the following cancellation charges:

  • For cancellations received less than 14 days prior to the event, the full delegate rate will be paid and no refunds will be available.
