FILMING NOTIFICATION

The Strain is a television series adaptation of the horror novel trilogy written by Guillermo Del Toro and

Chuck Hogan starring Corey Stoll (“House of Cards”), Mia Maestro (“Frida") and Kevin Durand (“X Men Origins: Wolverine”). The Strain tells the epic story of a vampiric virus as it spreads through the city of New York.

We plan to Film Interior and Exterior scenes at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel, 100 Front St W as follows:

Sunday, March 29

- preparations inside The Royal York

Monday, March 30

- preparations inside The Royal York

Tuesday, March 31

1. FILMING Interior scenes at The Royal York. Approximate times: 10am to 2am

Wednesday, April 1

1. FILMING Interior scenes at The Royal York. Approximate times: 10am to 10pm

2. FILMING Exterior scene on Piper St, York St to the east end of Piper St. Filming for 3 hours between approximately 8pm and 2am. Access to Piper St will be limited during this time. Toronto Police Services will assist with coordinating deliveries on Piper St.

- preparations will begin on Piper St starting at 12noon.

Thursday, April 2

1. FILMING Exterior Day scenes on York St, Front St W to Wellington St W. Filming for 5 hours between approximately 12noon and 8pm. Note: There will be intermittent traffic stoppages on York St. The scene depicts a small crowd of characters responding to an perceived off-screen gunshot, however there will be NO special effects and NO simulated gunfire.

- preparations will begin on York St at 7am.

2. FILMING Exterior Night scene on Heenan Place, University Ave to York St. Filming for 3 hours between approximately 7pm to 12mid. Note: This scene requires a CLOSURE of the east end of Heenan Pl. For those who require access to Heenan Place, we will ensure access from University Ave. Toronto Police Services will coordinate laneway access and intermittent traffic stoppages on University Ave and York St.

3. FILMING Exterior Night scene on Front St W, York St to Bay St. Filming for 3 hours between approximately 10pm to 3am. Note: Toronto Police Services will institute a full road CLOSURE of Front St W, York St to Bay St. Those requiring access to The Royal York and Union Station will be assisted by Police and Production representatives. This scene will include the use of police and militaristic vehicles and set dressing positioned on the north side of Front St W, near the main entrance to The Royal York.

- preparations will begin on Front St W at 12noon

4. FILMING Exterior Night scene on York St, Front St W to Wellington St W. Filming for 2 hours between approximately 1am to 5am. Note: Toronto Police Services will institute a full road CLOSURE of York St, Front St W to Wellington St W.

- our Exterior night scenes will require a variety of lighting positions, including an elevated light source on an 80' crane. If our lighting is causing a disturbance, please contact us immediately.

- road closures will only be required on York St and Front St W when filming the night scenes

Friday, April 3

- restoration and clean-up on York St and Front St W, 7am to 12noon

PARKING AND ACCESS:

To reduce overall congestion around the hotel, we will not bring our larger trucks onto the adjoining streets. We will do our very best to ensure that those requiring access to the hotel and neighbouring properties will be able to do so. If you have an access issue, please call Justin Cossette CELL 416-831-3825, or ask for a Locations Department representative on site.

Production Vehicle Parking:

During our three days and evenings of filming, essential Equipment Trucks, Support Vehicles and Picture Vehicles will be parked and repositioned as required within the following areas and times. These times range from when we initially reserves spaces with orange traffic cones to when our vehicles depart following our filming and final restorations. We understand that the area has ongoing and shifting construction and renovation concerns. We will not impose on or interfere with any of those areas or activities without express permission:

·  University Ave, east side, Heenan Place to Wellington St W

~ April 2, 7pm to April 3 7am

·  Front St W, north and south sides, York St to Bay St

~ March 29, 7am to April 3, 6pm

·  Front St W, south side, Spadina Ave to Bathurst St

~ March 29, 7am to April 3, 6pm
