Brief Biography:
Dr. Hamido FUJITA, is a professor at Iwate Prefectural University(IPU), Japan.He is the director of Intelligent Software Systems to design new software techniques based on cognitive interaction between human and machines, and intelligent decision making based on Medical Knowledge for medical decision making application.
He is editor-in-Chief of Knowledge-Based System, Elsevier. (Impact Factor 4.104 for 2012). He received Doctor Honoris Causa (Honorary Doctorate) from Óbuda University where he is International Advisory Committee (Board) of Doctoral School of Applied Informatics and Mathematics. He is Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Technology, Sydney Australia.He is avice president of International Society of Applied Intelligence (ISAI)
He is also adjunct Professor at the National Ocean Taiwan University, and Stockholm University and others..
He was associate Professor at the University de Montreal, Canada and in 1997 he moved back to Japan to become an executive committee member to establish Iwate Prefectural University on 1997. Then after from April 1998, he joined Iwate Prefectural University (IPU), Faculty of Software and Information Science, as Professor and head of Information System, directing at IPU two laboratories, Intelligent Software System Laboratory and Cognitive Systems Laboratory. He was a committee of establishing the Graduate School of Software Science, of IPU from 2000 for new Master and Doctor Programs that used Software practices Approach (SPA) concept as it main educational system in education.
He directed and led many projects sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Education and Culture of Japan, Ministry of Interior affairs and communications of Japan, and others from International sponsors and industry sponsors project on new software methodologies and intelligent systems.He contributed in software related inventions and got five registered international Patents on new software methods on tableau related development, and legacy conversion.
He has supervised Ph.D students jointly with University of Laval, (Canada) University Technology, Sydney (UTS) Australia, Paris_1 University, Sorbonne, Paris France, Stockholm University, Sweden and Genoa University, Italy. He was also Professor at the University of Laval, Quebec, Canada supervising Graduate Studies students.
He was a invited Professor at worldwideuniversities for lecturing and joint research: the University of Paris_1, Sorbonne,Stockholm University, Sweden, Granada University, Spain, Oregon State University, Corvallis, USA, Wroclaw University, Poland, National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico,University of Technology, Sydney, Australia, and Honorary visiting professor at National Twain University, and Joint Faculty member of Ocean Taiwan University, and others. He is also adjunct professor at The Italian Agency for the Evaluation of University and Research Institutes (ANVUR). He worked as opponent for Ph.D students’ examination at Stockholm University, Sweden, and University Paris_1, Sorbonne.He edited several special issues in International Journals on many hot topics related to Knowledge based system and software technologies. He has several registered international Patents on Software development and legacy conversions. His current main research is focused on intelligent medical diagnosis based on knowledge acquisition.
He had leda project on Intelligent HCI, and a project related to Mental Cloning as intelligent user interface for medical diagnosis, supported by MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), and SCOPE project on Virtual Doctor Systems, supported by Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Communications of Japan. He also, has several joint industrial projects with Japanese industry, a project on building avatar based mobile services and other with SANGIKYO co. on Work-flow management.
