nTheBioseparationEngineeringGroupdealswithdifferentaspectsoftheisolationandpurificationofbiomoleculesforthepharmaceuticalorchemicalindustry.Wearefocusedonadsorption,filtration,andextractionasseparationmethodsaswellastheirintegrationintotheproductionprocess.InadditiontotheexperimentalapproachesweuseCOMSOL

andCOSMO-RSformodellingandsimulation.

In2015,wecouldfinallyclaimthatbioseparationengineeringissuccessfullyestablishedasnewresearchfieldatTUMünchen.AsoneofthehighlightsthefirstPhDthesisinourgroupwasfinishedwiththefocusonantibodypurification.Thedevelopmentofnewhighselectivestation-aryphaseswithahighbindingcapacityyieldsanincreasedseparationproductivityofantibodiescomparedtocommercial

highlevelmatrices.
