PHONES IN THE SCHOOL

Cell phones are often a distraction in the classroom. The use of personal devices at school is not allowed.
We are fortunate to have a wealth of technology available for all our students to use to help support their learning.
We appreciate your support in ensuring students DO NOT bring personal devices to school (as has always been the case, students can be called in emergencies through the school main office).
If you choose to provide your child with a device, theschool is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of the device. Students are responsible for their property while it is at school.

•Cell phones and all personal devices need to be stored and locked in the student’s locker unless the child’s teacher has approved its use for educational purposes. The teacher has the final say in each school environment with respect to device usage.

Teacher/Principal/Vice Principal may access your device if there are reasonable grounds to believe that there has been a breach of school rules, and other disciplinary actions may be taken.

How old do you have to be to have a Snapchat?

Snapchat has "Terms of Use" that need to be read and discussed. These terms include verifying the user is at least 13 years of age and, if under age 18, they have parental permission.

How old do you have to be to have a Instagram?

Instagram requires everyone to be at least 13 years old before they can create an account (in some jurisdictions, this age limit may be higher).

Locks/Lockers

Every student will be assigned a separate locker. It is the student’s responsibility to keep the locker tidy. Lockers are assigned by the student’s homeroom teacher. Each student is responsible for purchasing a lock. Only combination locks are to be used. We recommend purchasing a Dudley lock.
