Beach Racing Supplementary Regulations 2016.

Restricted Invitation – (Motorcycle)

The Sporting Code and the Grass Track Standing Regulations of the ACU together with the Supplementary Regulations will apply to all Beach Racing Races.

Announcement

The Jersey Motorcycle & Light Car Club will promote clubman sand race meetings as follows:

1.  Course

The course will be determined by conditions on the day. The course will be marked out with cones & flags on the corners, and outside markers will be placed along the straights to determine the width of the track.

2. Entries and eligibility

The meeting will be open to members of the JMC & LCC, Guernsey resident members of the Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Club and the Guernsey Kart & Motor Club. Entries must be received by the closing date of the event, made out on the official entry form and submitted with the fee of £40.00 Adults, £26.00 Juniors, £20.00 Auto’s, to the Secretary of the meeting, or left in the Clubroom. Entries will not be accepted without the appropriate entry fee. Entries will not be accepted on the day unless agreed with by the Beach Secretary prior to the meeting. Entry fees are not refundable once a competitor has ridden on the track (practising or racing).

Cancellations prior to the closing date will be refunded in full, after that any refund will be at the discretion of the Sand Race Committee.

3. Insurance

All competitors and officials will be covered by Personal Accident and Competitors Third Party Insurance whilst practising and racing.

4. Classes

Will be arranged according to the entries received for each individual meeting. The committee reserve the right to amalgamate classes on the day in accordance with Section 7 paragraph 7.12. There is no specific number to form a class, and in championship races, points will be scored irrespective of number who start and finish. Points will be awarded 8, 7,6,5,4,3,2,1. This system will apply to Adult, Youth and the Sand Track championship. Adult Quads will be permitted. Maximum of bikes is 8 on a start line.

5.  Technical Regulations - Brakes

Only slider type bikes do not require a brake. All other track racing machines must be fitted with one effective brake. Bikes fitted with brakes and no brakes must not practice or race on the track at the same time.

Lanyard cut outs must be fitted.

6.  Licences

Motorcycle competitors must produce a valid 2016 ACU licence for Grasstrack/ Sandracing. ACU one day licences are available on the day of competition from the Secretary of the meeting at £15.00 per event. It is advisable to purchase an ACU licence.

7.  Technical inspection

All motorcycles must be presented at the time and place advised in the final instructions, with the required items of clothing for inspection. Motorcycles must be in a clean and tidy condition. Technical regulations will be strictly adhered to. Competition numbers must be in place when the vehicle is inspected. No bike will be passed without the correct environmental mat in place or without a 2kg Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher with their bike.

8.  Practice

Each rider will be required to complete two laps of the course before being allowed to start racing.

9.  Method of Starting

Elasticated start for all classes except Auto Cadet. When competitors are ready to start, the Starting Official will raise the Jersey Flag to indicate the elastic cord will be released within 5 seconds to start the race. If elastic start is not available, races will be started using the Jersey Flag.

Auto Cadet Class will be flag started on their own track.

10.  Sponsor decals

Any decals distributed by the organisers must be displayed throughout the meeting without fail.

11. Awards

Will be published in the final instructions for each meeting. All championship races count towards points. Competitors must drop the results from one event, or the equivalent number of races. Class championship awards will be presented at the annual dinner and a full list is attached to these supplementary regulations. Championship points will be advised in the final instructions and on the club website.

12. Penalties

Competitors who permit any of their wheels of their motorcycle to cross the defined edges of the course will be reported to the Clerk of the Course, who may exclude or penalise the competitor one lap, unless such action was taken in the interest of safety, or due to the actions of another rider. Any rider who displaces the track markers or flags with either his/her machine, or any part of his/her person, may be excluded from the results. Riders who are black flagged for riding recklessly will be banned from competing in his/her next race. Parents/Guardians of Automatics and 65cc riders are allowed on the track to assist riders should it be required ensuring maximum safety for both riders and themselves. As other classes are not permitted outside assistance then parents/guardians are not permitted on the track.

COMPETITORS ARRIVING LATE, WITHOUT PRIOR ARRANGEMENT, WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM THE FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP RACE.

13. Marshalling Duties

Marshals will be in accordance with the JMC & LCC marshal scheme. Overseas competitors will not be required to supply a marshal. Any late entry that is accepted will result in the competitor being penalised in accordance with the marshal scheme.

PLEASE NOTE: MINIMUM AGE FOR MARSHALLING IS 18 YEARS ON TRACK, OR 16 WITH PRIOR CLUB APPROVAL AND WRITTEN CONSENT OF PARENT OR GUARDIAN.

14. Jewellery

All competitors must remove all jewellery (ear rings, tongue studs, face rings etc) prior to practice.

15. Youth Capacity Classes

Section 7 paragraph 7.6 page 235 with exception of auto cadet class which will be in line with paragraph 2.2 section 2 page 137 of the moto cross regulations youth solo automatic A & B (maximum 50cc 2 or 4 stroke automatic no manual clutch).

Optional wheel size for senior 85MX 16” rear & 19” front.

16. Youth Numbers

As per ACU regulations for motocross.

17. Adult Capacity Classes

Solos up to 50cc, over 100cc to 125cc, 126cc to 250cc - 251cc to 350cc - 351cc to 500cc. R/H Sidecars up to 1006cc. Background colours and numbers can be found on page 230 of the ACU Grass track Regulations.

18. Adult Motocross Background colours & numbers

As per ACU regulations for motocross.

19. It is a club rule that:

No rider or passenger will be allowed to compete whilst disqualified for holding or obtaining

a driving licence in Jersey.

No rider or passenger will be allowed to take part in a training/test day whilst disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence in Jersey.
