PositionDescriptionandResponsibilities:The FinancialEducation Associate positionoffersa unique opportunityfor a highlymotivated individualto workin agrowth-oriented nonprofitorganizationthatis dedicatedto helpinglowto moderateincome familiesbuild assets andbecome financialstable.Financial Capability Network [FCN]provides customized financialcoachingforparticipants tohelpthemreach target goals includingacceptablecreditand debtthresholds;creditscores; savings;utilization ofhigh quality financialservices;andassetdevelopment.The FinancialEducation Associatewillworkdirectlywithindividualsin our FinancialEducationprograms to ensure thatindividuals reachtheireducational, financial, and assetgoals.

Primary areasofresponsibility-

Financialcoaching. Provide one-on-one coachingforparticipantsinFCN’sfinancialeducation program. Assistparticipants with goalsetting, budgeting, creditrebuilding, debt repayment, savings, utilizationofhigh qualityfinancialservices, and assetdevelopment. Ensure that participantsfollowupwithreferrals tootherfinancialservicesprofessionals. Monitorparticipant progresstoward financialgoals.Maintains filesforeach coachingsession thatincludestheintake form, creditreport, counselor’sanalysisand correctiveaction plan.

Financialeducationclasses. Oversee participantenrollment in andcompletion offinancial education classes. Distribute certificatesto participants withcompletion ofcourses.

Assetpurchaseprocess. Monitorparticipantprogress toward assetgoals,includingsuccessful completion ofrequired asset-specifictrainingrequirements.

Data collectionand evaluation. Collectallrequireddata fromparticipants throughoutthe program. Prepare detailedreports toFCNManagerrelatedto status and progress ofclients inthe financialeducationandcoachingprogram

Resource development. Identifyand referparticipants to otherresources and services neededto achieve theirassetgoal. Identify, cultivate,and maintain relationships with keycommunity partners.

Benefit Screening.Screen clients for economic supports to which they may be eligible Answer questions about public benefits and refer the client to other resources as necessary.

Generalprogramsupport.Provide support, as needed,to othercore FCNprograms including cross-training.AssistsFCNManagerwithspecial projects as assigned and othertasks deemed necessaryto achieve overallgoalsandto operate a successfulprogram.

Policy and Guidelines.Adherestoallguidelinesrelatedtoconfidentiality. Follow funderregulatoryand quality-controlrequirements.Works to ensure thatcustomerandfunder satisfactionisa priorityofthe coachingprogram.

Travel.Travelfortrainingand occasionalcoachingsessions as needed.

Willingnessto work evenings and maintain aflexiblework schedule as needed.

Experience andQualifications:

Education:Bachelor’s degree

Financialservicesexpertise:Theapplicantshould have a background in financialcoaching, banking, assetdevelopmentand/ora relatedeconomicdevelopmentfield.Theapplicantshould have experience workingwithlow-income familiesinone ormore ofthe followingareas: financialgoalsetting;budgeting;creditrepairand debtrepayment;utilization ofhigh quality financialservices;benefit screening;andassetdevelopment.

Skills: Excellentinterpersonal, writtenand verbalcommunication skills. Demonstrate organizationalskills, withthe abilityto handle multi-tasking.Knowledge ofMicrosoftOffice software and data collection systems.
