Captain Mangold’s aviation career began in light aircraft. He has experience as an instructor and has held various management positions in aircraft sales and fixed base operations. Captain Mangold’s airline career and part 121 experience covers more than thirty years. During his tenure with T.W.A. he served as manager of training on two types of equipment, as an engineering test pilot, ground school and aerodynamics instructor
For the past seventen years Captain Mangold has acted as an aviation consultant. This includes an assignment in Taiwan, where he served as General Manager and Director of Operations during application for an F.A.A. Part 129-14 certificate ( B- 757 ). Most recently he has acted as consultant to a number of new entrant Part 135 and Part 121 operations. Captain Mangold served as Senior Consultant to the new ownership team at Pluna Airlines, the national carrier of Uruguay.
In addition to his own consulting business, Captain Mangold has had the pleasure to serve as Senior Associate to Aviation Consulting Inc. Greenwich, Ct., Consultant/ Vice President Flight Operations, Alliance Air, New York and interim President to a new entrant Part 121 air carrier. Captain Mangold was recently “Director of Standards” for a major U.S. jet charter company.
