The Lancashire Employment and Skills Executive Partnership was created by The Lancashire Colleges (TLC) and the Lancashire Work Based Learning Executive Forum (LWBLEF) in 2015 to enable a collaborative approach toEuropean funding opportunities. Already the partnership has contributed to the development of a more coherent and effective integrated employment and skills system in Lancashire.

We are currently looking to appoint a Marketing and Promotions Co-ordinatoron a part-time and fixed-term basis. The post will support our delivery partners’ work through a significant European funded “Access to Employment” project which assists Lancashire’s employers to recruit and retain staff and supports individuals to secure sustained employment. The information given below is intended to provide an outline of the workload of the job and its role within LESEP. The appointment will be made on a fixed term basis until July 2018 and is subject to the continuation of funding through the Access to Employment project. The expectation is that the post will be 0.6 (22.5hrs) of a full time (37.5hrs) post and we are willing to discuss flexible work patterns on that basis.

The job description outlines the main duties in general terms only and is not intended to be prescriptive.The post holder will be expected to work in a flexible, proactive manner to carry out such duties as are necessary and to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels. There will be a requirement for the post holder to work independently without direct supervision and experience of this is desirable.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of marketing and promotional campaigns and events targeting potential beneficiaries and employers in scope for the project including commissioning and managing third party suppliers where required.
  • Planning, delivery and evaluation of research, consultation and CPD events and activities.
  • Developing and delivering PR plans, producing case studies, responding to press enquiries, securing interviews for, and developing briefings for use by, project champions.
  • Managing the use of social media channels to promote the project and LESEP activities.
  • Managing the project website and supporting linked LESEP sites by uploading and/or delivering content including news stories.
  • Supporting activities and events for sharing best practice and the project evaluation strategy to ensure sustainable outcomes.
  • Effectively managing campaign budgets including purchasing, forecasting and profiling, ensuring best value for money.
  • The post holder will be expected to work in a flexible, proactive manner and will be required to perform wider duties in support of the project and LESEP from time to time and as appropriate to their skills, abilities and experience.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS

Educated to GCSE level A*-C in English Language and Mathematics.
Marketing diploma or equivalent experience.

SKILLS

Track record of marketing and promotional event/project management.
Ability to work with and co-ordinate external suppliers and delivery partners.
Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience of using online publishing software desirable.
Good communicator – written and oral.
Ability to create and develop own work programme.
Good time management skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
BEHAVIOURS
Confident and outgoing.
Positive approach to working as a team member.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of Government / EU-funded programmes.
Frequent travel in and around Lancashire will be required.
Some evening and week-end work may be required.
