PRESS RELEASE – NUNEATON AND BEDWORTH VOLUNTEER AWARDS 2017

Tell us about your fantastic volunteers!

Nuneaton and Bedworth will mark Volunteers Week with a prestigious awards ceremony on Tuesday 13th June 2017, to celebrate the work of its community volunteers.

Warwickshire County Council, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action (WCAVA) are joining forces to stage this special event andare encouragingthe public to nominate community volunteers for an award. Therefore if you know of a volunteer or team of volunteers who are doing great work for the community – they would like you to get in touch.

Awards will be offered for volunteering in support of a range of themes; including health and wellbeing, creative and the arts, sport, sustaining the environment, young volunteers and long service as a volunteer. The awards will recognise individuals and teams of volunteers.

Anyone who wishes to nominate a volunteer or team of volunteers simply needs to complete a brief form which can be easily done online, saying why they have nominated the volunteer or group. Forms can be found on the websites of Warwickshire County Council, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Warwickshire CAVA. It is a very easy process but if anyone requires more information please contact Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action by email at who will be pleased to help. A volunteer supervisor can nominate their own volunteer team too.

All nominees for awards together with those who have nominated them and their chosen guests, will be invited to the awards ceremony. This will be held at Bedworth LifeChurch from 5.45pm - to 8.30pm on Tuesday 13th June, where presentations will be made by civic leaders to the award winners.

Every single bit of volunteering work is valuable in its own right and makes a positive difference.
