Agnes Ronstadt Poore named 2016 Hispanic Business Woman of the Year by the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

The Tucson Hispanic Chamber is proud to announce the selection of Agnes Ronstadt Poore, Co-founder and Chief Clinical Office for theCasa de Luz Hospice as the 2016 Hispanic Business Woman of the Year.

The Hispanic Business Woman of the year is awarded each year to the top Hispanic female of a business of any size located or headquartered in southern Arizona. Agnes was selected as she exemplifies the strength and importance of Hispanic entrepreneurship, organizational management and community leadership.

In November of 1998, Agnes co-founded Casa de la Luz Hospice, whose mission is, "…to provide superior care to patients and their loved ones, so that they may complete their mission on this earth in comfort, dignity and harmony."She grew up in Tucson as part of a longtime pioneering family, and has over40 years of nursing experience, primarily inadministration. Agnes is aSalpointe High School and University of Arizona College of Nursing graduate and received her Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.

Agneshas served on the Pima Community College Nursing Advisory Board, the Arizona State Board of Nursing RN Scope of Practice Committee, and the Arizona Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Board of Directors. She co-founded the Casa de la Luz Foundation and was honored as one of Tucson’s “Fabulous Fifty” Nurses in 1999. In 2009, she was inducted into the Salpointe Catholic High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame, and in 2014 received the Professional Achievement Award from the University of Arizona Alumni Association.In 2015, Agneswas the recipient of the Spirit of Philanthropy award from the Tucson chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Agnesis a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, the Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses Association, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and the National Association of Women Business Owners.She currently serves on the Executive Committee andBoard of the Pima Council on Aging.
