50th Leonberg Equestrian Games 2015 “Women's power” determines the “Grand Prix” on 13 September 2015

Horse-jumper Verena Kölz from the SV Leingarten riding club was the fastest to finish the course with no errors, in 81.39 seconds, on her gelding Landor 48, winning her the “Grand Prix of GEZE GmbH”. Sandra Daniela Alber, shareholder of GEZE GmbH, congratulated the winner and also handed her the honorary prize of a valuable gold coin and a horse blanket in the GEZE colours.

Overall, the two-star jumping competition (Class S**) was dominated by female riders: Second place went to Steffi Girrbach of Enzklösterle riding club, with her outstanding but headstrong mare May Breeze. She also jumped with no mistakes, achieving a time of 78.56 seconds. A male rider “snook” into third place: it went to Thomas Volk of Aischach Gültstein riding club with his gelding Cloud.

Of a total of 25 riders that took part, the places four to six also went to the ladies: fourth place went to Eva-Maria Lühr of Pfalzgrafenweiler riding club with her mare Cretel S and fifth place went to Madeleine Fischer of Weilheim/Teck riding club on her gelding Canta Libre 2. Sixth place was again taken by Verena Kölz with her gelding Curt 15, ahead of place seven which went to the men with Sven Schlüsselburg riding the mare Clarissa 135 of PLZ Engelsburg.

For the 50th time, horse riders from all over Baden-Württemberg met in Leonberg to compete at the highest level in jumping and dressage. Out of the total of 27 competitions, the “Grand Prix” on the Sunday afternoon is the sporting highlight of the jumping ground, which this year again attracted some well-known greats. The Leonberg family business GEZE GmbH has been holding the challenging jumping competition for many years, and has been committed to the sport of jumping for decades. By tradition, GEZE GmbH is the main sponsor of the Leonberg Equestrian Games.

The winner of the “Grand Prix of GEZE GmbH” is Verena Kölz. The prize of honour was awarded by Sandra Daniela Alber, shareholder of GEZE GmbH.
