April 16, 2014- General Meeting

President Pierre Khoury called the meeting to order on April 16, 2014 7:01PM

Secretary’s Report – Kim Matthews (absent); Pierre Khoury

  • Executive meeting May 7, 2014 7:00p.m.
  • General meeting May 21, 2014 Cranberry Township 7:00p.m. rm 2/3
  • Executive minutes from April 2, 2014 approved
  • April 28, 2014 All association open house at the municipal building. 5-8pm

President’s Report – Pierre Khoury

  • G19 meeting; Zero Tolerance approved. All teams in league will buy into Heads Up program. Will have a safety training coordinator outside of the league. Steelers offered to pay for half of coach’s membership dues to Heads Up.
  • April 19 at H.S. Baseline Concussion testing 43 kids signed up
  • Lacrosse meeting tonight to discuss funds & township agreement
  • Attended all association meeting, discussed Code of Ethics being a township ordinance
  • North Catholic contract negotiations ongoing
  • Capitol project discussed; will be tabled until summer
  • Discussed marketing agreement reciprocated with other area sports leagues
  • Received bid to convert upstairs of concession stand building into a multi-purpose room $26,000, more than anticipated

Vice-President’s Report – Matt Curran

  • April 24, 2014 Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza fund raiser
  • More registration signs coming. Banners coming
  • We have several sponsorships, would like to have at least 10
  • Will get banners to hang for soccer and lacross
  • So far in 2014 the board has raised additional $15k in fundraising

Treasurer’s Report – Dave Bacher

  • Cash Balance$78k

  • Normal inflow and operating expenses
  • Utility Bill - Approved

Communication’s Report – Mary Kreisberg

  • New Photography - TSS photography
  • Sunday Aug 10 at 10 am football and cheer. Try to do family fun day also
  • Getting larger yard signs for registration
  • Mass mailing quote came in high 35-41 cents per card. Will get a final price. Discussed during general meeting. General concessus is it’s worth it. Could add ad space to offset cost.
  • Fitness station paver purchase approved by board. 8x8

Football Report – Pat Cercone

  • Tu & Th in summer Revolution Speed and Agility Training – specific dates tba
  • Football Evals July 22, 23, 24
  • Registration numbers:

  • We are doing replica jerseys $50 child or adult can put name on back. Concerns were raised if it will be ok for some kids to have their names and others not. Motion made to table issue and discuss later.
  • First aid kits being put together. Dale will see them this week. Rental idea was suggested however contract is annual.
  • Pittsburgh Power offered to move game day to later in season, June?
  • Offense/Defense camp is July 13-16 it is full contact, not for everyone, pricey. Steeler camp in slippery Rock is another option as well as Big Ben camp. Will send out details on options.
  • Coach Holl camp will be modified due to evals. 21-24 of July

Cheer Report – Christine Wilkerson

  • Met with choreographer and apparel, sent link for mats – approved 4 mats coming to $2548 w/shipping
  • Will order speakers when Costco membership situated

Finance Report – Brian West

  • OD camp represents large revenue for township. May be an annual recurring camp. Will possibly offer a coaching clinic the Saturday prior.
  • Coach Holl – we’re working with him to look at his program as a partnership. His camp will end a little earlier to account for evals. It will incorporate Heads Up techniques. This partnership will strengthen our program within the community.
  • Flag football will not be run through the township. We will offer any player signed up with us to play free of charge. Non SVJFAC players can play for $25. Will waive if they join.
  • Will look at partnering with other local restaurants as our after game restaurant.

Facilities Report – Bob Cretella (absent) ; Pierre Khoury

  • 2 paint machines needed repaired.

Concessions Report – Deb Irwin

  • Coke contract with township not being renewed. Working with a local vendor and comparing online options for ice machine, bin and two single door merchandisers.
  • Working on Costco membership. Will meet Dave at Costco to sign up

Auxiliary Report – Tricia Fronczak(absent)

New Business

  • Dale Miller donated palette of paint
  • Kids wear your jersey to school day suggested

Old/ Unfinished Business

  • VIP book - all Butler county and Cranberry - Coupons in the book . Sell for $25.00. SVJFAC would receive $10.00 a book. Backpack program- family sells 5 they get one free. Also can sell at concession stand. Over 200 coupons in the book
