PREPARING A PAPER FOR COALITION NEWSLETTER

Document settings

The paper must be typed in Ms Word, in A4 paper size.Top, bottom, left and right margins must be 2,5 cm. Inner margin of the document must be “left”. Header and end of page must be 1,27 cm.

Type the text in two columns of 7,67 cm width each with 0,66 cm space between the columns. Use the “Univers” font 10 point size andsingle spacing between lines, except in author’s name (you must use Univers 14), and the title’s first letter (in this case, use Univers 12). For figures captions use Univers 7, bold and red. Same size must be used in the references.

Layout of text

Headings

Main headings must be typed in red and bold. Secondary headings must be typed in red bold and italic style.

Paragraphs

Type each paragraph separated 1 single space from the precedent. Do not use any separation in the first line of a new paragraph. Follow this text characteristics as a model for preparing your paper.

Tables and Figures

When using tables, avoid abbreviations in column headings if possible. Write the text in small fonts as Univers 7 or 8. Table captions must be written on the top of the table, using red bold univers 7 font. Quote them in the text using the complete word “Table” better than any abbreviation

When formatting tables use only horizontal rules, one of them above and other below the column headings and one at the foot of the table. If possible use only one column width for the table. An example of Table is shown in Table 1.

When inserting figures, preferablyuse only one column width, writing the figure captions below the figure. Quote them using the complete word “Figure” better than abbreviations as “Fig.” or “F.”. An example is shown in Figure 1. Use medium-high quality formats as .tif or .jpg for the photographs, with a 250 dpi resolution. Specifically avoid images in .gif format.

References

Quote references in text as Author (year), or as (Author year) If necessary add a, b... (for more of one publication of the same authors during the same year). Examples: Larch (1996a), or (Larch 1996a).

References must be typed in Univers 7, alphabetically and chronologically ordered, second and third lines of the reference should be intended 0,5 cm, as showed in the following examples:
