Practice this dialogue until you feel comfortable, and the words sound like you!

Be excited and allow your enthusiasm to show! Allow for postponements, life happens!
A good rule of thumb is to book 8 classes to hold 5!

This week or next week? A weekday or weekend? (let her answer) What time is best, 6 or 7? (give her only 2 choices at a time) Great! Let me write that down. We are set for ______at ______.
You know what, I want to do 30 faces in 30 days, right? If you could think of a few friends you can invite over, like your mom or sister or neighbor, and please let them know I’m in training and there is no obligation to buy anything, that would really help me see my 30 faces faster and I can give you some free product too! Does that sound good? Thank you so much! I’ll send you a packet that explains what you get free, and I’ll call you back in 2 days to see who’s coming. What is a good time to reach you? Thank you so much for helping me! Talk to you on ______!”

Script for booking career chats ( if a new consultant)

Hi ______this Is ____! I am so excited because I just started my business with Mary Kay. I am calling because as part of my training I need to get a total of 15 sharp women’s opinion about what I am doing. I hope you are not offended by me asking you. I am not talking about your opinion of the product but of the company. This is all you have to do to help me out. ON ______night at ______time my director, Tami is doing a training call for just me and my 5 people. All you have to do is get on and ask her questions about Mary Kay, the business.

When you do I will be learning more myself. It is fast and painless. Is there any reason why you couldn’t get on the call for me? GREAT! It is conference number and you have to call in. The number is 218-844-0840 pin 528-182#. Thanks! I will call you that day to remind you!

When you UPDGRADE your appointment with 2-5 friends you can get FREE PRODUCT of your choice and it will help me get my faces in faster. Is there any reason you wouldn’t want to share it with friends? Great! I will send you a hostess packet in the mail and call you on ______at ______time (set this up for 2 days!!!) to get the guest list. Thank you so much! I can’t wait!

Overcoming The Most Common Booking Concerns

I don’t have time. “I know how you feel, life can be so busy! The nice thing is that if you like my products, my services can actually save you time. You won’t need to run to the store for makeup when you run out, I’ll keep track of everything for you so you won’t have to think about your makeup needs again! I am very flexible so I can work around your schedule. Which would be better for you, daytime or evening? Or….”I can see how busy you are, and you know….I prefer working with busy women, because they seem to get the most done, wouldn’t you agree? I would love to pamper you with some wonderful skin care treatments and glamour tips that I know you’ll enjoy. I’ll be you have some friends who would love a break from the routine too. This would be a perfect opportunity to get together with them and have some girl time! Would a weeknight or weekend be better for you to relax and have fun?”

I tried Mary Kay before and I didn’t like it…or…it broke me out…I’m allergic to Mary Kay: “I am so sorry if you had a bad experience! May I ask you when you last tried Mary Kay…our products have gone through some recent updates and we are now the best-selling brand of skin care in the U.S. The products are tested for irritancy and allergy, and I rarely encounter anyone who cannot use them. I’ll be especially careful with you to make sure everything works correctly. What day would be best for you?”

My house isn’t finished….or nice enough…or big enough. “I can understand it’s important to you to have a nice place for the class, but you know, all we really need is a table, even a card table will do. The people who come will probably be your closest friends or family, and they will be coming to see you, not your house!” OR say…”If you feel more comfortable, we could hold the class at my house. That way you wouldn’t have to worry about cleaning up and I’ll have everything I need close at hand.”

I don’t know anybody to invite. “Really?! That surprises me-you are so friendly! First, I want to reassure you that you don’t have to invite a ton of people, in fact, some of the best classes I’ve had have been small. Maybe you could invite someone you work with; or some of your neighbors and you could even ask each of them to bring a friend along. If we found a couple of people to invite, is there any reason why you won’t want to share your check0up facial? It really is fun!”

I’m not interested, I already use Brand X. “You’re saying you’re happy with the results you’re getting from another brand and don’t want to switch, right? Well that’s fine! IT is obvious you take good care of your skin, and I would love to get your feedback as to how Mary Kay compares to what you are currently using. I truly don’t see it as a waste of my time, and you may enjoy some pampering and you might even learn some new makeup tips! Which is better for you//daytime or evening?”

I’ll have to check with my friends and see what would be a good date. “Well, (name), you could do that, or what may work out better for us is if we were to agree on a date that works best for you and reserve that spot. Then you can invite your friends and if for some reason that date doesn’t work for the majority of them, we can change it. What I have found is that it is sometimes hard to find a time that works for everyone, so it’s best to pick the time that works best for you and go from there.” So, what would work best for your schedule…? The beginning of the week or the end?”

I don’t wear makeup. “I can appreciate that a natural look is important to you. If I reassured you that I will not make you feel “made-up” or uncomfortable, would you be willing to get together-because I would really love to share our skin care line with you. I think you’ll enjoy how it makes your skin feel!”
I’m not into parties. “I can understand that. I’m not a party person myself. You know that is the very reason Mary Kay never called this a “party”. This is a class where I’ll teach proper skin care. When was the last time you truly had a fun girl’s night out? All you do is invite your friends and I’ll do all the teaching and pampering. I promise your friends will feel pampered, relaxed and have a great time! And while they are having fun, you get to be the QUEEN for the day and be totally pampered! All fun, all free! What would be more fun for you, a girls’ night out on ______or ______? Great, then we’re schedule for…”

The best way to overcome objections is to anticipate them and overcome them before they are even raised! For example, if you anticipate that she will say she is happy with brand X, then say, “______, you always look so sharp and put together, and I think you told me you use ______, right? Well, I would love to get your feedback on how Mary Kay compares to what you are currently using…..if I gave you a free makeover, would you be willing to give me your honest opinion of our products?” Or, if you think she will say she is too busy, say, “______, I know how busy you are, and that’s why I’m calling you, because the busiest women are the ones who make the best hostesses….”

HOW TO COACH YOUR APPOINTMENTS YOU JUST BOOKED

  1. Send thank you notes within 24 hours. Thank her for booking with you and remind her of the date and time you are getting together. (You can purchase pre-stamped postcards at the post office.)

EXAMPLE:

Dear ______,Thank you so much for helping me out with my 30 faces for my new Mary Kay Business! I can’t wait to get together with you and your friends on ______at

______. You will receive ______for ______just for sharing your appointment with a couple friends who have skin! I will call you on ______at ______to get see who’s coming and confirm the date. If you have any questions or concerns please call me______. Thanks! ______

EXAMPLE FROM PARTY:
